    Krystal you're so right! My mum had to have her hernia op at the main hosp "just in case" as she is obese and therefore may end up in intensive care, the nurses on her ward were amazed at how little pain releif she needed and her fast recovery!

  • My MW said ... (once she worked out my BMI) that I should not put any weight on during the pregnancy which confused me. Surely if I dont put weight on whilst I have a bean growing inside me I would be effectively losing weight and would be over a stone lighter when waters break, I give birth, etc as waters, placenta and baby all weigh something surely!

    yep, every night we'd wash, sterilise make up milk and put in the fridge, then just pop in the micro to warm when needed.

    This is what [STRIKE]we[/STRIKE] DH did too ;). Its one of his jobs and I deliberately didn't learn how to use the steriliser in the early days :D. We have this to warm the bottles in the bedroom and have never found it a hassle at all (as obviously don't know any different! ;)).

    CLICK

    Downstairs we would put the bottle in a jug of boiling water for a few mins to heat up.

    Yes thats what we did too, I hope to BF this time too but I am also determined not to beat myself up either way, I had a really awful time last time because I felt so guilty because I couldn't.

    (see how long I last without using the microwave this time, made it to about 8weeks last time before someone said are you still using hot water? in a voice that made me sound weird!}
    I know exactly what you mean! I was so guilty too and we went to a baby group and when we started about 2 of us were microwaving after about 4 weeks we all were!

    Ps krystal I know the advice but Chris never had a stomach bug and it didn't do any of my friends babies any harm either, when we went out and a bout I took powder and water separate or a carton. I asked the HV and she said as long as they were kept in the fridge at the right temp it would be ok and I'm happy with the decision I made :)

    i looked at that SB but our TT bottles are too big and it took too long IMHO much as I hated traipsing to the kitchen in mid winter!

    I timed it right so I could run for a wee, change her bum and whip the bottle out just before it had done its thing :rotfl:.

    We had Dr Brown's at first that didn't fit so moved on to Avent only due to us being given an Avent steriliser.

    I haven`t put on weight as can`t really afford to over eat. Too much sweet stuff makes me feel sick too !.

    While I`m here i had a really bad pain at the top of the bump by ribs and side pains. It was very scary:eek: but i had a long bath and i feel mostly better this afternoon. Anyone had something similar ????

    thanks B

    Glad you feel better now. I haven't really had any pains like that but I'm sure someone will be along soon that has.

    Or it could be the uterus stretching... If you're worried give the midwife a ring, Make her earn her money ;)
    A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
    Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
