Hi all.. Yay, I get to post during the day today too!
Funeral went well this morning - well, as well as funerals go! (you know what I mean!). It was only a small family service. I don't see OH's parents much (although talk to his dad on MSN a few times a week) and it was nice to do a bit of bonding over a cuppa afterwards.
I'm determined to get the house straight today. OH's sister may call in this afternoon and I can't have her seeing the house in the state it's in - she's got two kids and a high-powered fulltime job and her house is never this state!
I'm 9+6 today which is went it went wrong last time. Here's hoping I make it to tomorrow!Have had a few pains which I'm sure were actually just trapped wind so I'm trying to take my mind off it.
Daily dose of labour vibes for SB and Miss C!
I always think people with kids and a tidy house obviously don't know how to have fun :rotfl:(thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it)

Jvic, it's amazing how well you do cope when you need to. DH has a really crappy wage and we get a top up of working tax credits and child tax credits on top of it which sees us through. We're not rolling in it but then we have friends who earn twice as much as DH who never have any spare money and are always complaining about how skint they are...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... She's got a DD(15) and DS(3). DS is at nursery for half the week but makes up for it in the time he's at home!
She's just quick at swiping away the mess afterwards!
Have just cleared out all of the receipts from my purse and found a tenner I didn't know I had - hurrah!0 -
I'd much rather not go back, especially as child care is way more expensive than anticipated. However, we can't survive just on my OH's wage. I work in an office mainly on the pc, wage isn't great but not too bad, but with a mortgage and childcare costs there would be nothing left. I also have no family close to help really, who knows eh? We'll see.
Might be worth looking into working from home I did look into it a bit but was too lazy to look properly but you can get admin jobs like copy or audio typing to do at home which would mean you could stay at home and earn, that way your not loosing money on childcare0 -
My mum always joked, before we were seriously thinking about having a baby, that she would look after it so that she didn't have to go out to work.. I'm ASSUMING she's still up for that!
OH is trying to get a new job which would be a great improvement on the money and time off front so we might get away with me not going back to work, or at least only working part-time.0 -
I know what you mean. It's asking a lot but the mum in law lives 200 miles away. Do you think I could tempt her to move closer and babysit?DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0

Its my mum's dream to be able to give up work and stay at home with her grandkid(s)! I doubt it'll happen unless one of us wins the lottery tho
I have to say I do miss working but by the time I'll be able to go to work (when bump is 3 and gets a free pre-school place and Chris is at school) I don't think I'll get a job at the level I used to unless I get a temp job then they offer me something but to be honest I'd be quite happy working on the tills in tesco and thats what I'll apply for when the time comes - lots of people to chat to, no pressure, and the occasional bit of excitement when a pigeon gets in or someone shoplifts :rotfl: and its only 2 mins down the road0 -
My Mum is doing what her Mum did - no babysitting at all. She will visit, and I can visit her, but thats all it'll be - visiting. She will not offer childcare at all, except in extreme emergencies. I'm happy with that - I loved the relationship I had with my Grandparents when I was little, and I hope my kids will have a similar relationship with my parents.
MIL on the other hand would take the baby whenever I asked, but as she is a fulltime carer to disabled FIL, I won't ever allow her to do that. BIL and SIL (four kids between them) regularly take advantage of her, and I think that is just so wrong.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
