Thanks for the info Krystaltips and Millie'sMum. It was really useful to read. I guess I will see how i get on tomorrow. Hopefully it wont add too many more appointments or too many hours in the waiting rooms (unlike you Krystal).

That's strange that they did not tell you why

At my booking in appt it was said to me that i would be referred but the MW said the consultant might just see me and then refer me back to them.

The reason for me is higher than they would like BMI/very bad asmtha when i was baby to young child and a spell on anti-ds (which i havent taken for well over a year).
  • Angel, I'm consultant led due to my BP, weight and BMI. I have two extra scans at 28w and 34w to check babe's growth. I have only seen her once and she has referred me back to the MW's care unless they are overly worried and refer me back!

Lots of good luck with your scan this afternoon! I have my 4D one at 5pm :j

AM I want to come and hug you! You must be a very strong person, my hubby went to Scotland for the week with work yesterday and last night I was on the phone to him in tears (albeit partly hormone related!) I miss him so much when he's away especially when a big hairy spider pays me a visit
I doubt we'll get the vouchers but will apply once I'm 10wks anyway just in case. I haven't looked at the mat grant but if I remember rightly we aren't entitled as hubby earns "too much" I hate that we miss out on things because hubby works 50+ hrs a week so we don't struggle but I suppose I'm used to it as it was the same growing up my dad worked his little bum off to pay for things, as my mum always proudly declares "we might not of had much but you always had Clarks shoes!" :rotfl:
I have to say if you gave me the chance to go back and swap my childhood for one with more money I wouldn't take it, I had a great time spending summer at home in the garden with our dogs, my sister and a paddling pool - who needs disney land!
Aww Thnx, I'm not anything special, It's what I'm used to, been a single mum since I was pregnant with Aston, but although i'm officially a single mum now, I know that this baby's dad will always be here for both my sons so that brings some comfort, I will be able to have breaks etc as he'll have him for weekends, take him on holidays and stuff like that so it's not all bad.
I suppose you dont miss something you have never had

Hi Ladies, i have a question to ask if anyone knows the answer?

Im booked in for a c section next tuesday but today have come down with the most stinking cold you would not believe, do you think it will affect my operation if it hasn't gone by then. Got to have bloods taken on thursday and know it will affect the results of that :-(

i want this baby out now!
Will you be having it under general?
I doubt if you have the spinal block it will make any difference, the best thing would be to call your midwife or consultant to discuss this.
Is this an elective because you have had a previous C-section, I've had one and was asked yesterday if I wanted a VBAC or C-section with this one, but havent decided yet!

Thanks SB, that is reassuring. I guess I feel somewhat bad having a consultant involved even though I shouldn't. Silly I know.

ohhhh....good luck with your 4D scan. are you going to share pics? understand if not. I will be getting one of these done too.

I'm seeing the consultant on the 3rd. They can't fit me in for a scan then, so I've got to go back a few days later for my 20 weeks. Interesting to hear that other people are consultant led. The main reason I am is for mental health problems, but she said I might have been consultant let anyway due to my BMI (45 - when did it get that high?!).

    Hi Feelinggood,

Let us know how you get on with your appointment wont you.

It seems there are a few of us that have consultants involved, although like i said, i guess i wont know until tomorrow if mine will stay involved.

As for the BMI tell me about it, seems to go up quick enough but doesn't work in reverse :D

    Take care
