I've no idea about benefits. Its all pretty confusing. OH is on a low salary (£500 a month I think) but does take dividends sometimes, so I don't know what he actually brings in. I'm on IB and DLA. Why are things so confusing!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

FG, IB and DLA aren't means tested so you don't qualify at the moment but do look into it for the future. You can claim the £500 grant up to 3months after baby is born so you may qualify then.

Oh and as far as handing the domestic violence leaflet... I got passed it with a stack of other stuff... Including stopping smoking... Even though it's all over my notes I don't smoke!
Oh and I got the no smoking leaflet too... although we both told her neither of us smokeGuess they just have to give that one...
I'm just glad that once bubba gets here I have a paediatric nurse next door... that's taken a huge worry off my shoulders it has to be said
Till then I'll just settle for pestering my doctor as and when I have a medical concernAnd the midwife if I absolutely HAVE to...

On the whole healthy start and eligibility front... We're waiting for tax credits to assess us now DH has moved in but over the phone they told me we'd get ctc and wtc of about £18pw... I really wish we weren't though, that £18pw means we're missing out on a whole lot more including healthy start and free school meals... (and if you get free school meals you also get free school trips!)A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

We don't qualify for anything... bit depressing really having paid so much tax and what not and we don't get anything *sigh* oh well I guess if I ever need it then one day it'll be there with any luck... but it does grate me a little that we don't qualify for anything, no milk, fruit - nothing... Bah humbug...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Hey ladies - the lurker is hovering again...
Don't want to upset anyone but I wonder if any of you have any experience of the next pregnancy after a [first] m/c.. Did you have any extra scans/tests, or was it just treated as a normal pregnancy?
I went to see my doctor yesterday - wanted to check my blood tests/thyroid levels were all good - and he said they are trying to cut back on the amount of early scans they do as it doesn't really prove anything or put your mind at rest for long (in other words, "everything could change tomorrow"). I see his point but I just wondered if that's our PCT's outlook or if it's a national thing.
Thanks
PS Could be back with you by the end of the month.. have been working on it!0 -

Good luck! Sounds like your Doctor is a bit of a diddy to be honest. I self-referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit at my local hospital and they scanned me at 6w then at 8+4 (yesterday!) to put my mind at ease. They'll be more than happy to see and assess you, they're very understanding, mostly because they work with pregnancy loss day in, day out.0 -
Hi elle gee - unfortunately they do not early scan or anything unless you have had 3 miscarriages. That is why I went for a private early scan. I just couldnt wait until 12 weeks after last time.

elle gee I have to say I can see his point... I had an early scan (at about 6 weeks) due to ending up in hospital dehydrated from vomiting... They were concerned it might be twins (it doesn't appear to be...) but I have to say that having a scan did absolutely nothing to allay my fears that I might miscarry
In fact I think it might have made it worse because IF I'd lost bean (well I'm only 10 weeks... so touch wood!) then I think it would have been so much worse because I'd seen it's little heartbeat... Loosing it then would have seemed so much more like loosing a person. I think I could have dealt with a miscarriage easier if it had happened had I NOT seen the little heartbeat... does that make sense?
