Morning all :hello:
MW was very pleased with me yesterday - BP excellent, pee 'very clean' (and yes I got my cup back again), growth rate good (FH 31 now so 3cm in 3 weeks) and Bean's heart is galloping at a nice 140bpm which is smack in the middle of the desired range:j .
Hubbles had a big goofy grin all afternoon after hearing the heartbeat - that's the first appointment he's been to since the 20 week scan...
Next appointment in 2 weeks on 23rd Dec as we're in Shrewsbury over Xmas so I get a listen to Bean a week earlier than would normally be the case:D but will be getting bloods done again
We're in the home straight now - less than 9 weeks to go...:j26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

getting close isn't it lucifa??? Glad your apt went so well.
Question for the breastfeeding experts please:
I'm planning on BF and therefore plan on buying a couple of nursing bras for when baby arrives. However, I'm in a quandry about sizes....
My breasts haven't changed size at all during pg at all. I know you should hold off until 36wks to be measured for nursing bras, but that's only two wks away, can anyone explain how measuring for nursing bras works and how my non-changing shape might effect this???? (did any of that make any sense to anyone?!)r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
r.mac, when you buy a non pregnancy bra it is recommended you buy it so that you can tighten it as it stretches in the wash (ie, does up on the loosest hook and eye) whereas with a nursing bra you're supposed to buy it so it does up on the tightest setting and can be loosened as you increase in size.
Do be prepared for your breasts to suddenly explode in size about 3 days after birth when your milk comes in...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Labour vibes for Miss C and SB.

I will be welcoming all visitors with instructions to put the kettle on, load/empty the dishwasher and bring/cook food and look after bubba whilst I shower/sleep/do my hair. I am normally known for my hospitality so it will make a change for people to look after me for a change!
Hope everyone is well!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Ladies I thought you may like this news item http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20081211/tuk-fatherhood-gene-for-boys-or-girls-45dbed5.html
its about how scientist think there is a gene in men that makes them have either more boy sperm, girl sperm or equal ammounts of both, if you look at my hubby's family I'm not so sure as it's this
FIL has 2 bro's and 1 sis
FIL has 2 sons
uncle A has had 3 girls and 2 boys (1 boy and 1 girl unfortunately died when tiny)
Uncle B has 4 girls (one set of non-identical twins)
and hubby has 1 son and 1 unknown
I'm not seeing a pattern there!0 -
Hi Guys, I'm going to be really miserable now and bring up the subject of money. We were looking last night into how much maternity pay is etc and how much nursey care will be. How on earth can anyone every afford it? I must be missing something. I can't afford to stay at home on maternity for long as it doesn't pay enough, but who can afford £170ish a week for nursery care. I just don't get it. It's going to be so hard.
Sorry to put a downer on things this morning, I'm just worried. It looks as though me and my boyfriend will never actually get to spend a day together.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -

It must be that time of the year - I am currently waiting for my carpet fitter this morning!
We just had our bedroom redecorated, so we are sleeping in what will be the nursery. We had never slept in there before, but it is lit up all through the night (we have a lane at the back of our house that has street lights that shine straight into the room!) I think we will have to invest in some heavy duty blackout curtains for when the baby comes along!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Just make sure you doI'm a rather fiesty you-know-what but turned into a meek little wussy thing for about a month after giving birth, I'm spending my entire pregnancy this time reminding myself "I'm a strong confident woman" :rotfl:
Tink, I hope your Mummy gets well soon! My daddy is currently rather ill after having the proper flu which has turned into a very painful chest infection, I went to see him yesterday and my poor mum is exhausted from having just gone back to work after an op and worrying/running round after my dad and the dogs  It was awful to see my dad who I usually forget is in his 50's coz apart from grey hair he could pass for 30 (he's even got a six pack!) but he was shuffling round like an 80 yr old0
