I'm a bit scared of this going into labour business as I was induced last time so don't really know what to expect!. I'm petrified that my waters will go in public :o or I leave it too late to get to the hospital and can't have all the pain relief I need!. Just fed up today and want him out :rotfl:. I've told him he can arrive any time now as we have put the Christmas tree up! :T.

    xx

Don't worry my labour started of its own accord it was no biggy ;) I woke up at 6am needing a tinkle and when I got up off the loo there was a trickle, I thought I just wasn't finished so sat dawn again and nothing, stood up and trickle again so i wiped then held some tissue against down there and stood up, a bit more came out (bit gross I know) and studied the tissue it was pinky and didn't smell like wee so I shouted OH and called hosp who said come in so I had a shower (no way was I going to hosp with greasy hair!) in he shower i had some mild pains which felt like my insides squeezing, went to hosp and they monitored me checked my bits and I wasn't dilated at all. they said the pains were prob my cervix moving as it usually points backwards:confused: they said I could go on the ward or go home, I chose home
and a midwife would come visit me around 3pm to check on me, the journey home takes about 20 mins and my mum nipped to tesco for some sandwiches for lunch, while she was there my contractions got much stronger and I decided I would soon need some pain releif so OH rang my mum (she'd only left the house about 10 mins ago) she got back about 10 mins after we called and we went back to hosp, tried to call them constantly on the way but no answer
when I got there they put me in a labour room as someone was in the obs room, when hey checked I was 4cm dilated (this was at about 11am) the MW said I think I'll be delivering this baby before my shift ends at 1!
once she'd sorted everything, got me on the gas n air she left us on our own (me, OH n my mum) at about 12.30 I said I need to push so buzzed MW and she took a peak and said yep its coming! Chris arrived at 12.57 :T just in time for MW to meet him and go home :D

I've been to my parents house for a few hours :D Despite them only living 15 mins away I haven't been over and seen my dad for about two weeks (speak to my mum everyday though). Was nice to see them in person and tell them all my work gossip :)

I don't feel very sick tonight either so looks like I need to limit myself to only a quick nap.

Picked up my black dress for tomorrow. I've got such skinny calfs I haven't managed to find any boots to go with the dress so I'm going to freeze! Still we're following the car so can have heaters on in the car then go straight in so won't be too bad. Just got to go straighten my hair now so I look presentable.

  • Morning all,

Just popping by the give you all a quick update, well it turns out what my mum had wasn't gastro related it was life threatening and she's been in intensive care since the weekend so life is a blur at the moment of hospital and home.

We think she turned a corner last night so I've come back to work today for a little normality (and the fact that I've only worked here 6 weeks doesn't help!)

Thanks again for all of your advice re telling me to stay away, I know it was the best thing to do :D

In terms of preg news not much - 9 1/2 weeks (oh er misses!) and just feeling really cold all the time. oh and wishing I knew the date for my scan, don't think there's much of a chance of getting it done before Christmas which is a shame.

Anyway, HUGS to you all I'm off to have a quick catch up before everyone comes in :o

  • Sending vibes to SB!!!

We had a midwife come round last night for a "parentcraft" session. I've not got any experience with tiny babies, so it was all really useful - had practices with a doll for holding/bathing/nappies/getting dressed. And she had some fake "full" nappies, so you know what to expect and what is normal! Oh, and she had a fake boob, to tie onto yourself, so I could practice breastfeeding. I'm glad we were at home, and no-one else was there for that bit, I felt like a right eejit!

Today I'm waiting for Argos to deliver nursery furniture (not sure if it is some or all of it - girl in the shop couldn't tell me, as the computer didn't tell her - I will have to wait and see what turns up!). They are coming some point between 7am and 6pm, so every time I hear something which ~might~ be a lorry outside I am hanging out of the window to see if it is for me. I'm nackered, and could really do with going back to bed for a bit, but I don't want to miss them. Will have to get the match-sticks out to prop my eyes open for a bit longer ;)

Sorry to hear about your mum tinkerbelle. I hope that she gets better soon. Sending you hugs.

Sending miss_c and SB good and quick labour vibes.

Antenatal class was ok - best bit was hearing that one of the women I get on well with has just bought a house round the corner from us - so I'm going to have a new mummy friend nearby :D:D:D

Having a housey day today, although this afternoon I do have a friend popping over to help me eat some mince pies. :D
