Morning all well I had my booking in appointment and in all honesty it was a bit pants, unless that's how it's supposed to be. She was here for 25 mins and basically just clarified some questions I had with the form told me not to eat soft cheese and pate and no drinking and then said I'd get a letter with my scan date and then she left
Is this the way it normally goes? You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
hello ladies
after doing two tests earlier in the month and them being negative, ive done two today which both have faint lines.. im one day late, period wise.
i was wondering if you could tell me if i sound pregnant... i know this sounds mad, but id convinced myself so much that im not preggers after my two tests, i dont believe the pos ones!! im terrified of going to the loo incase aunt flo is there..
anyway i have sore breasts and back ache. i never get back ache.... i have been sleeping very well the last couple of weeks, even slept through hubby waking up and going online a few hours.. i have a slight metallic taste although i think im imagining it. i had had a sore throat the last week. ive had a bit of an appetitie although i do when im due. tea makes my mouth water and makes that taste worse.. ALTHOUGH i have had faint period pains since yesterday, on and off, and not very often.. thats also making me feel im not
in all my adult life, everytime i think i may need a test doing there has always been the one line (i do the dip in urine types) where as today has been the only time ever i have seen two. and not on one test but two.. this is also month one of trying for a baby which makes it even more unbelivable!
put me out of my mysery girls, what do we think? now ive done 2 tests, im not doing another one until the morning..
hope everyone is ok! xxxx
Yes you're probably pregnant as there is not really any such thing as a false positive... (unless you have read the sticks too late - read the destructionsthey should say after how long you should stop reading them because they can show something even if you're not pregnant
) if in doubt? Get a clear blue one that says with writing: PREGNANT
That's what I did... I didn't want to wonder I wanted it spelt out for me
It's still early days though so just take things easy - sadly a few of the ladies here had what we all fear and dread, miscarriages are a reality unfortunately and although I have been lucky I did find it incredibly upsetting when someone else with a due date very near mine miscarried - so much so that I kinda refused to think about it and comment etc because it made the possibility of me losing bean more real... but now at coming up 17 weeks I can think more calmly about it... It's not likely to happen but it might... make sure you only tell people you know you can rely on support from should the worst happen...
I had little choice but to tell everyone due to severity of morning sickness but I know I'd have been unable to speak to people if I'd lost bean. I know it's a not very nice subject to think about but you might want to just consider it when you decide on who to tell at this stage
And remember that this lot are always here for good advice and support no matter what!
And congratualtions! Concieving first try IS possible - we did it too which made it quite surreal! Actually I think it only really sunk in when last week bena moved up and I now have a proper baby belly... before that I just looked like I'd snaffled all the pies!! :rotfl:DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Mine was pertty pants too... she went through the folder filling stuff in and took bloods (DH nearly passed out...) and that was about it... oh and weighed me...

Talking about dreams, Duncan Bannatyne kidnapped me onto his boat in Lanzarote, but I couldn't call anyone for help as my mobile had lost all its contacts and I didn't know anyones number off by heart
(not even my home landline lol)
Last night I went shopping with DD and DS, I had a pram with me, but no baby in it (?), we stopped at Lush so went in as I had presents to buy from there, but the main store part of it was upstairs and they had no lift, just hundreds of stairs. Then while I was arguing the toss with the shop manager I realised son wasn't with me, so I rang his mobile ~ no answer. Started to freak out, walked a little way down this block of shops and son banged on the window of a cafe. He was sat in there with his best mate and they were both digging into sausage, mash, peas and gravy.
When I asked him !!!!!! he was doing, he said we're having our breakfast
Very strange dreams lately....:oTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
hello everyone
Appoinment went well. MW took full blood count as I told her about being so tired and not sleeping well. She'll call if there is anything to worry about with the results otherwise not seeing her until 29 december! I'll be 37wks then - OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also told MW about baby being quiet yesterday. Typical as was going to speak to her about it being 'very overactive' and should that worry me! she listened to me and asked some questions and had a good poke around - heartbeat is good and strong and baby is in a good position. Also measuring well so she thinks it was just sleeping lots - after its growth spurt easrlier in the week. I like my MW - she's really nice
AF - I also hate milk by itself and can only stand a little on cereal (just enough to make it damp!), yet I love custard, milk puddings, porridge made with milk and really milky coffee. So I'll join you in being weird :wave:r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Thats a bit rubish Tink, My booking app lasted over an hour and I didn't even have the bloods taken and didn't have many questions as I've done it before. did she give you lots of leaflets and a little book called Emma's diary?
MFD: your doc - you snobmaybe she was going for the Diana offof x factor dragged through a hedge backwards look (why do people think it's a good look
)
and dreams! when I was pg with Chris I kept dreaming my mum was pg :huh:0 -
Thanks MrsT - I thought it was just me, as it was at home she didn't weigh me, take bloods etc and didn't leave me with any info etc which I think some people get, I guess I will pick them up at the scan?
Oh a positive note one of our local hospitals has been getting quite a lot of bad press recently over maternity care and I was a little worried but apparently as we're central to 3 local hospitals I get to choose which one I want to go to, so that's given me some reassurance. You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
Sami - No she didn't give me anything, as I said hopefully I will get these at my scan appointment (fingers crossed)
So glad DH didn't take the day off for the appointment he wouldn't have been happyYou laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -

Good luck, sound like the neg ones were just too early.
I know we are always told in the media about all these people needing IVF n stuff makes it sound like its really hard to get preg but there are also plenty of people who fall first time and I'm one of thosemy first was unplanned and the result of one time taking the risk  and now my 2nd was conceived 10 days after stopping using contraception.
MFD: I'm thankfull that my mum is taking my soon off my hands this evening and not bringing him back until 2mo :T hopefully I'll be able to sleep off this cold now!0
