Sami - I have a list of things such as sudacream, cotton wool balls, maternity pads, breast pads, lanisoh cream (sp?) and haven't purchased any nappies yet either. I wondered if a big boots delivery with their points and promotions is better or whether a big supermarket online shop is the way to go - wondering how others do it/plan on doing it really I'm nosey!:rotfl:

Don't worry I think I was being a bit thick this morning! I supose if you buy it all at once from boots and got the extra points for spending wotever it is now plus the parenting club double/tripple points you would do petty well out of it! I hadn't even considered doing that!
I usually do a bulk shop separate from my usual shopping. I go to asda and buy a few 6pk huggies wipes (£5 for 6packs) a jumbo box of nappies, box of pull ups and then other bulk stuff like 24 loo rolls and 24 pk crisps.
the only deff advice I can give is don't buy nappies in bulk until they are in about size 2 otherwise you will probably find hey grow out of them before you use them all x

Talking of baby things, I got all emotional yesterday. I thought my Nan would take the news of me being pregnant badly, but she has been lovely. She is 90, and isn't in the best of health, but has crocheted me a blue and white shawl for the baby! I know she must have been in pain making it, and I can't believe she did that for me.

Right I am going to go and get on with the assignment I am meant to have finished by tonight!!

It is hard to concentrate while baby is kicking chunks out of me.....but I suppose that's my fault for drinking a big glass of coke and eating a massive bar of chocolate.

pleased to be of service
Also don't worry too much about taking loads of nappies in your hosp bag, they get free pampers ones so you may as well save money by using their freebies :money:
I know what its like, I still have bottles of bath stuff I bought before Chris was born but as I say they last ages and Chris has eczema and had really dry skin from being overcooked so I haven't ever used the bubble bath stuff or moisturiser coz he has spesh emollient cream

AF: hubby must be bad he's just rang to say he'll be home later for doc's app (the surgery is literally across the road from ours)

oh dear he must be bad. i can't get my hubby to go unless he nearly chops off the top of his finger (like the last time he went to hospital/doctor).

ask him if his doctor can provide him with some 'non grumpy to the wife' antibiotics...if he's got his sense of humour back? if not, best not mention it :D

Can I just say, to all the pregnant women planning on breastfeeding... Don't buy nipple cream!!!

Seriously, it's expensive and a waste of money. You really don't need it if your positioning is good, and if it's not then expressing a bit of milk and leaving it on the nipple does far more than a bit of lanolin cream (which a lot of people are allergic to) can do!

Sorry... It's a reall bugbear of mine...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

    hi guys

Congrats FG half way eh? great!

I had some more bleeding last night and I thought "thats it" as it was bright red with clots / cramping and heavier than my continuous spotting, really prepared for the worst. Rang in today and got a scan this am and all is well
I just got a collection of blood in the Uterus but not in the gest sac. Baby has grown as expected since scan 2 weeks ago (even gained 2 days!! or was it that they got the weeks wrong?!!!) haha. very relieved as really thought it was over.

    MW tomorrow nearly 9 weeks!!!!

    have a good day guys
    xx

Glad to hear everything is hanging in there nicole, I can understand your worrying... I'm 16 weeks now and have only had about a week blood free since it all started! (I am hoping I'm at the end of that though)

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

can you tell us more Krystaltips? My midwife suggested that cabbage leaves are really good but to have some lahnisoh (sp?) too. Apparently you don't have to wash it off before baby latches on. I know that technique is what really effects nipples, but can imagine that as it's a totally new thing for me that some help will be needed before I'm an expert
