Thanks for all the messages re homebirth. I will ask about taking iron before the birth, although when my blood tests came back last time I had really high iron levels.....My 28wk app is middle of Dec so they do all the bloods again. I will see what the result of those are.

Hey might all be irrelevant anyway, I have to have another scan at 34wks due to low placenta so may have to have baby in hospital anyway....

cazcoob isn't very far from me :D

SB - glad to see that you didn't have to go to hospital and that you are keeping your local midwives in a job! I'm the opposite and have low BP apparently, but as its consistent they aren't worried.

No idea why, but I'm in a foul mood with hubby today - he hasn't done anything to warrant it either - poor thing! He's escaped by falling asleep in front of the sport. I fancy going for a walk, but the frost is VERY thick outside so I think I'll just stay indoors afterall!

elle-gee we have had our pram bought for us aswell - it arrives on Thursday and I'm very excited :D We have a three door BMW, and we don't want to change it so have gone for a maxi-cosi carseat and easyfix/isofix base so it clips in and out so my back doesn't break everytime I go anywhere!!!

We have a matiz, which is TEEENY, but we still managed to find a buggy to fit in the boot - it's a buggy that folds down flat, rather than a proper pram, so it doesn't look as cosy for when baby is really tiny, but seeing as I'm due in just over a month, it's going to be too cold to go out much to start with anyway. I'm planning on going out with the sling, and nicking one of DH's coats to fit round both of us - much warmer that way :)

35 weeks tomorrow - DH has discovered he can play games with bump already - if he taps his fingers on my tummy then the baby rolls round to follow him! Hours of free entertainment - very MSE ;)

What buggy have you got. Only I bought a new Smart car the week before I found out I was pregnant and now i'm in a panic because i'm not sure i'm going to find a buggy to fit in the boot. Then theres the possibility of expecting twins (first scan next week, so we'll see!), which will mean that sadly the car will have to go. I have always had smart cars because anything bigger would show up my terrible parking skills. If I can get a buggy small enough to fit the boot then me and little bump will be lovely and cosy chugging along in my Smart!!

I think I've just realised the real use for parent child spaces! nothing to do with prams and car seats, it coz we've all swapped our small cars for bigger ones we can't park! :rotfl:

It's my husband who is awful at parking, I am excellent at it (if I do say so myself!!!)
In our old house we had to park along the roadside and everyone had to park almost bumper to bumper in order for us all to fit in. So I always had to reverse park in between two cars, I had a itreon Xantia, which drove like a tank!!

We now have a lovely big spacious driveway - which is empty hehehe.....

you could buy a quinny zapp which is a tiny frame and the maxi cosi car seat to clip onto it then when baby is too big for the car seat then you still have the little buggy! they are great buggys and i use mine regular. it stays in the car and fits n the footwell it folds that small:D however if its twins then you will need a bigger car lol!:j

if you chose the storage space is tight option.
Although I think your mad for having a smart (and earlier Matiz lady) I feel like i'm in a Little tikes cozy coupe in a car so small, like your gonna get squished by a lorry at any moment

Oh I was going to ask some advice while I am on. At work we have to wear a uniform which is supplied, they have supplied me with a maternity version but it is awfully uncomfortable. The top is ok, well now i've ordered a bigger one anyway. would you believe I am a small size 14 and have had to go up from a Large to an extra large in their maternity range. god help ladies who are bigger to begin with.

Anyway it is the trousers I have an issue with, in so far as I am going to refuse to wear them as of this week. They are completely useless as trousers and can't possibly be designed by anyone who has been pregnant, or by any reputable clothing company that would have the slightest clue about how to make maternity clothes.

Do you think I am within my rights to refuse to wear them?

As they do provide maternity uniform so obviously expect it to be worn. The only problem is they are a horrible green colour which I doubt I could find in any shop, so I was going to just wear my own black trousers. I was nearly in tears with frustration and discomfort last week wearing them.
