  • Elle, I couldn't do my jeans up from about 6 weeks! I think it was more because I couldn't stand anything across my tummy though, made me feel even more sick... I'm definitely bigger now though, I put one of my non roomy tops on today and it was tight all across the belly... Won't be wearing that for a few months!

Tine, I'm feeling a couple of movements now and again but not many and not every day (and some I can probably put down to wind) The only reason I think I can tell is because I've done it before but with DD I didn't feel her move until past 20 weeks I'm sure. The first time I felt her move I was re-upholstering a chair and every time I pressed the staple gun down it made the baby jump!

AM: Not really going to offer advise because I don't think there is any I can offer... All I wanted to say was, I was a single parent for 4 years and I know how hard it is being on your own night after night, and watching other people with their (seemingly) happy families, sometimes just having someone yourself is better than having nobody... No matter who that person is or how they behave... You said yourself you know what you need to do and I'm sure when you are ready willing and able you will do that. Until that time, and once you're done, we will all be here for you willing you on! :)

    Has everyone seen this:-

Not sure I understand exactly when it comes into force. I know it says April 2009 but don't know what stage of the pregnancy you have to be at then.. whether it's only for those who fall preg after April 2009, or if you're 29 weeks in or after April 2009 or what exactly.. Might be there and I've missed it!
  • If you read the 2nd link, the nmc one it says it comes into force from April 2009 and women can claim it from 25 weeks pregnant, I'm taking that to mean as long as you are 25 weeks or less in April the you will be entitled... I might just scrape in!

I'll be 26 weeks on 3rd April.. (going by LMP date, could be less going by last week's scan). Hurrah!

Speaking of scans, can't wait for my booking in appointment on Wednesday to find out when my scan is!

Right gang... I know we have covered this before but I haven't the energy to check the thread :)
When did you first feel movement? I'm 15+5 now and apart from a tingle a good few weeks ago that I now don't think was Bean I haven't felt anything yet! Getting a little concerned! I am very aware of anything belly down incase it MIGHT be Bean but nothing... not even a little tickle... :(

Mrs T I've only felt this one a couple of times - I'm a couple of days behind you but 3 babies ahead! It is perfectly normal not to feel as a first tier until 18 even 19 weeks - so nothing to worry about

  • my midwife was telling me about the £190 payment, she said it was for all pregnant women and will give me some more info when she has it, we get child tax credit and both work full time so am pretty sure we wont be entitled to the sure start grant.
am picking my maternity jeans up from a lady that takes up all my jeans and makes alters stuff for me on wed so will be able to wear comfy clothes again, cant see why i cant buy maternity jeans in a short leg though lol

  • If you get the minumum child tax credit (works out about a tenner a week I think) then you aren't elligible for the surestart grant but if you get a penny over the minimum then you are, there's a thread about it on the benefits and tax credits board with the proper amounts on.

I ordered a couple of maternity bits from my catalogue the other day, two tops that were reduced that I could wear to my brothers wedding and a pair of trousers... And I got a 20% off code from here to save a couple more pennies!

Mirror - not sure how short you are (I'm 5'3") but Dorothy Perkins did some mat stuff in a short leg the last time I was pregnant. I tended to buy in the sales so they weren't too expensive. HTH

hey all hope you are well!!! well as i have had no pain since last being at the reflexologist i decided it would be a good idea to help OH in the bath room, then went shopping and bsaically didnt stop all day, well it was the worst mistake i have ever made:( i honestly am in so much pain. it started last night and i could cry, worst thing is is im having still to use the downstairs loo and i was up and down the stairs all night. also i am feeling lots of pressure low down i think thats where the head is as i can feel arms moving back and forward, do you think she has went back to back and thats where the pain and pressure is coming from? well am away to find more painkillers and feel sorry for myself lol xx
