House is now tidy but my back hurts and I'm tired. Doing some washing at the moment and need to have a shower before my friend comes.
it will be interesting to see what the MW says about the lotus birth. it will be a shame if it is something you really want if you can't do it. I hope it goes your way.
take it easy with the cleaning. my back has been hurting for gone a month and it gets annoying after a while. your friend is coming to see you, not your house0 -

Feely - it totally depends on how high 'high' is and whether is a known or unknown for the midwife.
I'm planning a HB and the midwife and most other people have all been very helpful. If you want to know more ask your MW about it....... the only thing to be aware of is that at any time during a HB you can change your mind and be transferred or your MW can recommend that you transfer for safety reasons. So don't get too set on the idea, being realistic and flexible is the key (or so I am told!)

If I have a home birth I guess there's no reason why I can;t, it might be harder in hospital. I'll report back after my app with her and let you know what she says - she is v keen on home births so I might be lucky.
I know what you mean about tidying but I need to do it as I have to get a load of stuff cleared out to go to the local charity sale and once that is gone the only other tidying is the gargae which is OH's domain! :rotfl:
I usually spend all day sitting on the sofa so a bit of cleaning isn;t too bad - my back just seems to feel it very quickly at the moment. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Last time I saw my Midwife, she said it was far too early to be thinking about the birth! She was lovely though, so hopefully I'll get some answers next time! I've got an appointment with the Consultant in December, so I might ask them. Because of my mental health problems I'm more 'at risk' which I don't understand and want to get clarified. I think if I don't have a HB, I'll just go to the delivery suite, and not onto the ward.
I'm amazed though, no one has told me off for being too fat so far! My Mum regularly got shouted at. When I had a few missed periods, the GP said it was because I was too fat, and that it was very unlikely I'd be pregnant at my weightStay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
FG one of the first things they asked me was had I thought about the birth... I mentioned home birthing but so far they keep telling my my high BMI means I'm higher risk... Here's my opinion on it... My healthcare providers are really not keen on home births and if it wasn't my BMI it would be because baby 1 was so big... Or I have brown eyes... Or my due date is a Sunday... So really it depends on the health care providers and their opinions... Do also bear in mind that it is actually your decision and if you are adamant you want a home birth then they have to provide you with the adequate care.... Most women don't know that or are not confident enough to stand their ground...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Still find it strange to think about the birth. Anyone else seem to have a mental block? I can imagine all of the pregnancy and coming home with the baby, but its as if my mind won't let me think about labour!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

If you really want a home birth then ask for one - but given the issues not only with your BMI then be prepared for them to say they aren't happy with it... If you are increased risk then the safest place for you to give birth will be hospital and not at home... I might consider it with Number 2 but first time round when I don't know what to expect from my body I will most certainly be in hospital!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! i was told to ask and get booked in for a HB as early as possible so that the midwives in the area were aware and could put your details on the board as apparently they are only allowed to book so many women in a month due to staffing and equipment. am 29 weeks on monday OMG:eek: and will have all the equipment dropped off on the 1st feb and between xmas and Bday they will nip in and out to say hello and check me over etc? so need to stock up on the sales biscuits ater xmas lol!!
not sure about HB feely were you booked into midwife lead unit or obstetrics? as if the latter you will have problems getting anything inc waterbirth
rmac lucky you can i come for dinner too:p i am in a cannot be bothered mood after reflexology and i think OH friend is coming to help out with the bathroomWhat's for you won't go past you0 -
Caz - its a normal unit that is being changed into a midwife led unit, althought technically it won't be when I go in. Its very midwife focused though.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
