Thanks AF! I'm wondering if its cos of the m/c last time around, don't know if this sounds daft but I think its a bit like not wanting to get too excited - its almost as if I won't really allow myself to believe its all ok and here to stay until I get to hold bubs:confused: Does that sound odd?!

to be honest, i think that sounds completely reasonable.

Hope this post doesn't sound too selfish and woe is me!? A close friend went through 3 failed IVFs (before adopting a lovely 10 month old) so I know how lucky I am to get to this stage. I just feel a bit of a fraud at times (look away now Mrs Tine and others...) but this pregnancy has been a bit of a breeze so I tend to worry that something else is going to go wrong! Perhaps I'm just having a down day, a bit of pre-labour nerves and hormones on the wobble!

i don't think it sounds selfish at all. i felt like that for a few weeks when i wasnt feeling sick (and the heavy front and sore back hadn't kicked in).

You'll be fine once you get there AF! The first timer excitement will take over. I've never had much to do with hospitals before DD was born but it wasn't that bad honest! Is there a birthing centre near you, perhaps that would suit you better? It really is true that you body knows what to do in labour, just have faith in yourself. I'm a wimp and wouldn't be going through it all again if it was that bad :D xx

no, no birthing centres near me i don't think. i cried had tears in my eyes all during eastenders tonight and then when i went for my bath i just booed thinking my baby was going to have to come out. how sad am i?

Shellsuit & Tine, i also have a few friends who had an almost full body wax just before their due date  tho I've always been a wuss when it comes to wax, its bad enough getting my eyebrows done

Ps. the book I mentioned recently which I think is a good read in general but would help those of you scared of labour IMHO Call the midwife

Some will let you if you pay to have them safety tested first (that is if the rule is for all electrical things as I only know this to be true of cd players during birth)
They don't allow any electrical or gas styling things at my hosp I had to just put my hair up while still wet so i didn't end up looking like Diana of xfactor!

Mine's easy - wash, dry and then plat out of the way (that's hear hair before anyone makes any jokes about the other areas I've mentioned ;) )
I didn't realise you were allowed waxes whilst pregnant... don't know why just didn't occur to me you could... I might "treat" myself and have a brazillian and a half leg done... Should prepare me nicely for labour! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Cue image of me laid legs akimbo nearly fully dialated and looking very chilled: "nah it's not that bad... the brazillian wax I had earlier this week was WAY worse so hold the entonox for now"... :rotfl:

Evening all, I'm back from my tea out, feeling very full and like I've eaten twice as much as what I actually have. I'm sure it's just bloating, but I'm impressed to already be curving outwards between my hip bones having previously having a completely flat stomach (size six ;))

The friends we went out with have a seven month old and most of our conversations revolve around pregnancy and babies. We haven't told them about this one yet (they were so distraught for us last time) but I'm sure they were picking up on the fact I didn't have egg with my gammon like I usually do and that I was looking forward to the coleslaw until I found out it was homemade and then didn't touch it (hadn't given it a thought beforehand!). Seeing them again on Friday so they'll probably just ask outright then!

And you say I'm wierd ;)

I am getting bigger by the day at the moment and keep finding things that I struggle to do. Popped into the supermarket after work today and got a big trolley because I couldn't be @rsed to fish in my bag for a pound for a little trolley :o I only got a few things so the trolley wasn't too heavy - then I struggled to reach into the bottom to pick my things out :rotfl: I am 5'9" - how on earth do little people cope???

Generally getting up and down off the floor or sofa can be a struggle and trying to keep up with hubby when we are out is ridiculous!! I wouldn't mind but I am still only 25 weeks (:T :T 25 weeks today - yay :T :T )

Hubby is stripping in the dining room ;) and I have to say that I am finding it v v v attractive - I think it is just because he is being a man and doing man things :D - I always want to jump him when he has a hammer / lawnmower / screwdriver in his hand...don't these men realise that they would get it much more often if them did more jobs around the house ;):D

Good luck for scans and checks - I am trying to keep up but everytime I turn my back everyone posts at once!!

I think i can officially class my ice lolly eating as a craving, I went through half a box a day with Christopher . I've had 2 so far and am going to go get a third now!
the best thing about my pregs have been that I completely go off sweets and choc and just want to eat ice lollies esp orange ones i think thats why I didn't get too fat last time
