LOL, no, I see the irony :)

In our case, it was a mix of Ruby being the birth stone for July (my sister's birth month), OH's fav colour being red, and our mum's being Julie and Julia and being known as Jule/Jewel and ruby being a jewel... Geddit? Or do I sound like I'm clutching at straws to justify it?! ;)

No reasoning whatsoever behind the actual name we want to use - we just like it! :D

  • Gutted, gutted and more gutted like a fish!

I woke this morning with the worst ever pains in my pelvis and have been hobbling around this house for most of the afternoon. We were all set to got the Baby Show this morning but DH told me to be realistic and we had to cancel :o. I don't even want to know about all the offers I could have had  or dwell on the money gone down the drain for the advance tickets!. Oh well.....

Oooh, names! I love the whole choosing of names business! I have a long name that I'm hardly ever called so have made a deliberate effort to call my children names that can't (or shouldn't!) be shortened.

I liked Ruby for a girl but DH hated it! ;). I thought Poppy and Ruby would go nicely (and they are both red :rotfl:). And also I decided not to choose anything from the top 20 so my son's middle name is going to be Jack (no1 for the last 6 years ) even though I love it and it was my grandad's name.

Poppy has two middle names, my Mum's and MIL's, as I thought it would be a lovely gesture and she was was the first grandchild for both. They were both absolutely delighted and my Mum was in tears when we announced the arrival :o.

    Hope you're ok , elle.

    xx

We can't decide on a name either, we did... but I changed my mind. Trouble is I'm running out of time now, I'm due on 22nd Nov. This is the first baby where I've known the sex in advance, in fact due to the cvs I've known since I was 12 weeks but it hasn't made it any easier. I think I'm just going to wait and see what she looks like and what suits at the moment.

Well for those just starting your morning sickness... you could be lucky and it stops fairly early - and you might never actually throw up! Or... you could be like me... at 14 weeks STILL throwing up for king and country! ARGH! Have meeting with HR and my manager tomorrow - apparently to make sure they are doing all they can to "support" me... yeah right... Sending me on a 360+ mile round trip AIN'T helpful! NEWFLASH! Giving me the company's most stressfull client and then another 8 on top... because we're short staffed - AIN'T helpful!
The fact that most days I still have to take cyclizine to control the nausea which knocks me out for roughly 3 hours when I take it makes everything a chore - if I can work from home it's not an issue because I can dash to the bathroom and throw up when I need to, but driving makes it worse as does the stress of knowing I am x meters and 3 security doors away from the nearest bathroom...

So tomorrow should be fun! I sincerely hope the sickness doesn't carry on through the rest of the pregnancy but is just late "letting go"...

Interestingly everyone I have spoken to lately who have kids have all had NO morning sickness. I am honestly getting to the point of hating them! :rotfl:

In the mornings I crawl out of the pit as soon as I am awake - if I stay put it gets worse - and head for the kitchen to have breakfast. Again if I don't have food right away... bleurgh! Then it's little and often all day.
Ginger had no effect for me, but again like another posters (pregnant brain fade) citrus and fruit... Mandarins, satsumas, bananas, grapes, apples and pears - even pineapple! I don't think I've eaten so much fruit for a LONG time! And fresh carrots... I just top and tail them and munch them as is :)

And because i thought of loads more stuff to share... Part 2 ;)

Have been getting more twinges too - especially when walking the dog so have had to slow down which she is NOT happy about! The good news is that gives us time to work on the obedience and it's showing :)

Dh and I have seen a nursery furniture set we both love - only thing stopping us at the moment is price... it's the Whinney The Pooh set from Toys'R'Us... don't know if anyone has seen it? :)
We also love the Sleigh style set but that costs even more!!
Argh so many choices! I'm vaguely hoping that by early next year there might be a few on fleabay ;)
Still mainly craving fruit and fresh flavours - struggling to eat my oily fish :( I know there is a supplement you can take but anyone know what it is? Will pop in a largeish boots tomorrow and see if they have any as feeling very naughty that I haven't eaten enough fish :(

Also... really worried I haven't had enough Folic acid... I took them for the first 12 weeks, but thanks to the MS I think I yacked at LEAST half of them back up...

Hate to say it MrsT, but my mum was sick every day (between two and twelve times) with all three of her pregnancies..
