:eek:sounds like you'll have a fight on your hands there! maybe you should raise the issue of your missing contract as it is illegal to employ someone and not provide a contract within the first 7 days of them working for you.
I'm just thinking in terms of you proving that you do work there, for how long etc as that will help if you need to fight (I'm guessing that they are the type of place to make you redundant or something so avoid paying you what your entitled to:rolleyes:)
Don't worry, I'll raise every little thing with them if they say they won't pay Mat pay, that's why I need to know all the facts and figures now so I'll be able to give it to them straightTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Well done Greet!! its fab you managed to cope and b/f all your bubs! are you superwoman
I'm all geared up for a struggle when this one comes as I gave up too early with chris (2weeks) I'm determined to make it work this time, though I'm sure Chris won't like mummy giving the new baby "cuddles" for so long at a time
I'm lucky in that I've never once had sore boobs or anything from feeding. I remember going to see a friend in hosp with a 1 day old newborn - and she had bleeding nipples already. I've never had mastitis or anything - sure, I've had overfull, tender boobs, but expressed a bit from early on to keep them under control , and help latching on.
DS1 was a lazy latcher and a snack fedder rather than feeding for a long time every few hours. That was hard. However, I found older children are happy to sit with mum with a pile of books and be read to whilst new one feeds away. Having largish boobs which have fed for a while I find if I lie bub on a (normal) cushion I can feed no-handed(not recommending you do that for first timers!) I've never used a breast feeding pillow or anything either. When I had a cs with dd (11 next month - eek!) I put her on a pillow from my bed for comfort. I'm also a MASSIVE fan of feeding lying down on my side, cos it suits me :-)

Skintchick, thanks for sharing. Sometimes what suits us doesn't suit everyone but someone on here might find it useful
On the whole breastshell front, they can be quite useful for collecting milk although you do have to watch they don't cause a problem with oversupply. With regards to leaking, most women find as their supply evens out to what baby needs they don't leak so much...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

As long as I could reach the remote, it didn't bother me that DD fed for an hour at a time while I was lying watching TV... Sure I won't allow this baby the luxury apart from between 9am and 3pm...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Hello, am I your friend?!
This is what happened to me and the reason why I bottle fed Poppy.

Yep - meant to say I used them for the first couple of months until supply/ demand settles down. I used pads after that for about another month or so - and slept on a towel when night feeds started to dropDemand led b/feeding is brill - your body will make what it needs to. DS2 was exclusively b/f (apart from 2days when he had forrmula cos I was on antibiotics which weren't compatible with feeding and ran out of frozen expressed milk) until 2 day before he was 6 months, when I started him on rice. It was quite soul destroying on teh antib's though - I'd feed him a bottle then have to make sure I expressed an equivalent amount of milk and pour it away to ensure supply was maintained. Any other time I've had antibs I've had penicillin - which is fine, juat means extra runny nappies
I get some strange looks/ comments when I admit to how long DS2 had fed for - I don't have a problem with it - it works for us

Absolutely agree with you greent, and a shame about the antibiotics... There's some great information sheets on the breastfeeding network website about medication and mothers milk, bascally tells you what's safe and what's not and alternatives to suggest to your doctor, a great resource!
And SB, if you want to try breastfeeding again, get all the support from the healthcare proffessionals you can. It's what they're there for!!!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Sorry girls - I'm having a bad day today. I'm really miserable about being out of work, and worried about mc, and just generally down. Keep crying and I know some it is the hormones but I find that is depressing in itself! DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

((Skinty)) Don't worry about being emotional, thats completely understandable! Hormones make everything seem 100x worse. I had a cry this morning because I forgot to do a load of washing yesterday! Feel silly now I'm awake and stuck it on.
The Babycentre website has an interesting page about pregnancy after miscarriage, maybe something helpful on there:

Also, the NCT and La Leche League have breastfeeding counsellors. There are lots of great books out there too. My Mum was a breastfeeding counsellor and gave me a stack of books, as its something I'm really keen to do. A good book will have a list of all the problems that can occur, and what to do about them. Very helpful!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
