Hi have no idea sami, but is there not a benefits hotline you could call? Or maybe the CAB?

I got maternity allowance with DD because I lost my job at 10 weeks but had worked enough qualifying weeks before... Don't think I'm entitled to anything at all now, seeing as I'm a kept woman...
I'm not holding out much hope, I nearly fainted when they told me I did qualify for JSA I was expecting them to say nope your hubby earns enough for the three of you. We don't "need" the money but it would obviously mean we didn't have to be as strict with limiting luxuries etc i have to say I wish more of my friends were kept like us, as most of them only left uni in the last couple of years they all work and party all the time:rolleyes: I'm not jealous as its not my thing but I wish i had more peeps to lunch with

Shellsuit: sorry if this is a bit silly but, as you say your paid cash, sometimes that means its harder to prove your earnings, do you still get proper wageslips and do you have a contract? as this would help you if they do start being ar*ey about it.

I'm so confused about what I'm going to do so if anyone knows can you help me please:A
I was on maternity leave with Chris and my SMP ended in June 07 then I was made redundant whilst on unpaid mat leave and got £2000 redundancy pay sept 07 I didn't have any earnings or JSA again until April - July 08 when I had a part time job then and still now I'm on JSA but that will run out in I think Feb 09 due to my lack of NI contributions. does anyone know if this will mean I don't get MA as not been contributing enough NI?

We don't get proper wage slips, we get the old style brown docket type which is a complete pain in the a$$, if, like you say I have to prove my earnings!

I don't have a contract. Well, I did have one, but I left there in 2006 - 2007, but not had another contract since I've been back AND the only reason that we got contracts in the first place was because they were paying us under the minimum wage and they wanted us to sign contracts to say we worked less hours than we actually did (so on paper it would look like we were over the min wage ~ what a cheek hey!) Anyway, we refused to sign them, they were ammended to what hours we actually worked and we got the backpay they owed us.

That's why it's all going to be such a pain to sort out

Well done Greet!! its fab you managed to cope and b/f all your bubs! are you superwoman ;)
I'm all geared up for a struggle when this one comes as I gave up too early with chris (2weeks) I'm determined to make it work this time, though I'm sure Chris won't like mummy giving the new baby "cuddles" for so long at a time

Nope - but I found pressure made them leak, not stopped it!

After the birth I used breast shells - no point leaking all that milk and wasting it - I used to empty the shells several times a day into a bottle and freeze. (The other boob will leak like noones business at first when you feed!) If you use shells I'd advise a pad at the top, cos if they're quite full and you lean forward, then your cup will indeed runneth over!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

:eek:sounds like you'll have a fight on your hands there! maybe you should raise the issue of your missing contract as it is illegal to employ someone and not provide a contract within the first 7 days of them working for you.
I'm just thinking in terms of you proving that you do work there, for how long etc as that will help if you need to fight (I'm guessing that they are the type of place to make you redundant or something so avoid paying you what your entitled to:rolleyes:)

edit: Ps whoever mentioned wipes, I always use huggies wipes as they are thicker than most other varieties so i feel less like I'm touching poop you can get multipack in larger Asdas 6packs for a fiver so thess than a pound a pack - if you bought a single pack they usually cost around £2.50

Sami, you must be on Contributions Based JSA for 6m which is based on NIC not household income. I received this when I quit my job a few years back (and never quite got around to getting a new one! :o). After that it was zilch .

It depends on who for and at what stage I guess. Midwives generally advise not to open your legs wide because all your cartilage and 'stuff' in your pelvis softens up and can move around and it can be very painful... you will probably find that she doesn't have you doing things like that for long (or the MW will ban it!)

No need to be sorry ;) , keep up the pelvic floors or you may end up wetting yourself too :rotfl: :D
