  • morning ladies...

all I have to say is that I'd kill for:

    Blue Brie
Glass of Wine - no, make that a bottle
    A rare steak or Venison.....

but it's worth it.... wouldn't change a thing!

    5 weeks and 1 day today :D
    *does a little dance*

    Hope you're all well...
(we've decided to not do any shopping until after Christmas - fingers crossed for a sticky bean!)

    Hi Little Pickle,
I will join you in those foodstuffs as long as its red wine.
We too are waiting to shop till after Xmas as its very early now - also the sales will be on then so much cheapness. We are going to store the stuff at my parents house as I dont want it in mine until much nearer the time...
5 weeks and 5 days and counting...!

  • Am I right in thinking that the No No food list is:

    Nuts
Cheese - Blue (aka moldy cheese) or Rind
    Tuna
    Pate

Is there anything else as my Midwife ran through it very quickly, infact the converstion was:
    MW: Do you eat Pate?
    Me: Yes
MW: Not anymore, do you eat cheese?
Me: Only cheddars, philedelphia and dairylea, can I still eat them?
MW: Yes but no blue or moldy cheeses, or soft cheeses other than philedelphia and dairylea, they are ok. Do you eat fish?
    Me: No am allergic.
MW: Dont eat fish or nuts then.
    Me: Oh ok.

So from that I assume I can still have blue steak mmmmmmmmmm my favourite :D

Here's wot it says in the leaflet MW gave me
    Avoid:
Liver - high in Vit A
All types of pate, cheese with blue veins, mould rippened cheese, under cooked/uncooked ready meals - Risk of listeria
Undercooked poultry, raw eggs, eggs with runny yolk - Risk of salmonella
undercooked meat/poultry/game, unpasteurised milk/cheese, unwashed fruit/veg - Risk of toxoplasmosis
raw shellfish - risk of food poisoning
shark, swordfish, marlin - high levels of methylmercury
Peanuts if mother or father or other children suffer from asthma, eczema, hayfever or food allergies
    alcohol
no more than 300 mg of caffeine per day
no more than 4 servings of tuna - high levels of mercury (this one wasn't in leaflet but I've been told this in last pg)

    Phew! I think thats everything!

Are you getting the 'any news yet' phone calls?

Hi Toto, glad to hear you haven't beaten me to it yet :rotfl:

Not so many phone calls as yet, but every Mon morn I take DD to nursery I get "you've not had it yet then"! My respsonse this week was "no, but I've got a feeling it will be here by christmas"!
I even worked out when 2 weeks over would be earlier, 5th Dec  I really don't want a Dec baby, DD was due 28th Dec but hung on until she was forceable removed (ventouse!) on 12th Jan.

You take it easier with that cleaning (although I'm planning to wash the covers on the pram later ;) , may save mopping the floors til tomorrow although the sunshine is making me see dirty marks on the windows) Oh, we so know how to live eh?! xx

  • I am 19 weeks tomorrow and weighed myself out of curiousity yesterday and have only put on 3lbs despite being told I am measuring 3 weeks ahead - does that sound right? I have midwife appointment tomorrow to check blood pressure and protein in my water and am hoping everything is back to normal or I will be referred to the hospital!!

They have suggested that if it doesnt lower I may have to be admitted!!

greent - how you doing? did I miss any news?

Have CVS tomorrow morning at 11am - with initial results re Downs by Monday (hopefully Fri but am not crossing fingers at that one!). I'll need anti D injection too, as I'm rhesus neg and DH is rhesus positive.

Have read conflicting stuff over what I can/ can't do after cvs and how long I should rest for. Have decided to take longest view and have organised help etc for 72 hours - am planning on virtual bed rest! Haven't figured out what to tell eldest 2 yet (they don't know about pg, toddler too little to realise anything) - will probably have 'flu. I don't like lying, but it's more they don't need to know anything just yet and will be vvvv concerned and worried about stuff - and I don't need that as well!

Am wetting myself, frankly!! Am scared CVS will result in a 'healthy' baby miscarrying (esp as I've bled at fortnightly intervals), am scared the result will show Downs, am even scared because CVS doesn't test for Spina Bifida that it will have Spina Bifida and I won't find out!!!

Have been v emotional today with Armistice stuff going on. Was explaining about Flanders fields/ poppies etc to my eldest 2 at breakfast and nearly cried several times!

DH is v stressed over looming redundancy too - so we're a bit useless in this house atm!

    Fingers crossed!
