    Hi,

cd22 of 25, and I seem to have stopped spotting but have a REALLY strong metallic taste in my mouth. I'm going to try another cheapie test tomorrow morning, and see if anything shows up...

Dear Ginvzt I hope you don't come down with anything bad.

Went to the docs this morning and after doing all the paper work he checked my urine and said I had a bowel infection so I have to ring back in three days after they have done a few more tests and drink more water. Then he told me to go to hospital and have a scan for the bleeding which I did and was in the hospital 4 hours!!! Anyway had a scan, the doctor could see a sac but nothing in it so it is one of three things:

    1. Too early to tell - but I'm sure I'm at least 4 weeks now and they are supposed to see something at three weeks since conception  I did a digital test on the 21st which said 2-3 weeks since conception and another on the 28th which said 3+ weeks since conception.

    2. A miscarriage although if it had happened I should have had more bleeding - it's still only light.

    3. Eptopic pregnancy but why would she see the sac in my womb if it was eptopic? Didn't think to ask this at the time.

So they have taken blood and I have to give more blood on Wednesday. If the amount of pregnancy hormone has gone up by the right amount I should be ok but if not I have to go for more scans.

    So more waiting... :(

Awww hun i'm sorry, I really hope everything is okay.

I've googled it and a lot of what I have found is saying it's too early and that's why the sac looks empty. See what you can find, it might make you feel a bit better knowing others have been in the same situation.

    ((big hugs))

Jennynoo - sorry to hear things didn't go great today (I was thinking of you this morning)
I think you are right they are supposed to see a heartbeat at around the 5 week's mark (i.e. 3 weeks from conception) but your dates are quite close so there may be time yet.
I've been in a similar situ years back and a few months ago (but I was about 9 weeks gone so pretty obvious what had happened but the waiting around was still awful)

The blood tests are supposed to be the most accurate way to find out what's going on so I will keep everything crossed for you x

btw - do you know if you usually have a 4 week or 5 week cycle? as this can make a difference as to when baby's heartbeat is visible

    1. True. It could be too early but as you say about the tests giving you approx conception times its unlikely. Maybe baby was just hiding?

    2. Typical miscarriages involve lots of bleeding and pain but with both of mine I had no fresh bleeding at all and no pain at all.

    3. I agree with you. An ectopic is in the tube so I can't see how they would see a sac in your womb.

With my first mc they re-scanned me after a week to see if baby was there but sac was still empty and had started to shrink a little.

I really hope your pg hormone is ok on wednesday.

  • Been and had my smear today, they did a test and it was a BFN but she said that their test would check if i was pg 3 weeks ago and that if i had 'just caught' it would not show up. What is the point in that as i knew i wasnt pg 3 weeks ago due to af being here. She told me to come back in 3 weeks if af has not shown and they will do it again for free so its all money saving lol.
Looked like the cheap ones from ebay so i might invest in some of those

    Hope everyone is ok tonight

Thanks everyone for being so supportive, it really helps. I just wish that if I'm going to miscarry it would hurry up so I can get it over with and start TTC again - was definitely more fun than my current situation. Enjoy it while you can! ;)

    Hi Annie,

Could say your symptom spotting but had exactly that when expecting DS, any chance you've gone off tea as well?

Don't really drink tea much tbh, but haven't enjoyed coffee really today. The taste only really came on this afternoon, after lunch. Had pizza (not healthy, I know, but it's been a bit of a day) for tea, and it's STILL there.

And yeah, I am SO symptom spotting! :rotfl: Still, I did have the spotting - that was a 'real' symptom to spot!

Well not long now and the 2ww is over, I'm finally on my 2ww although the OKP didn't match with my temp rise on when ov occured so either on 2 DPO or 4 DPO, either way if AF isn't here by 12th I will be testing.

Going to resist all symptom spotting if I can help it (give me a week and I'll change my mind).

Spotting on day 7 is a good sign though especially if AF still hasn't arrived.
