Smartie I'm right with you! Hence not posting this weekend. Talk about crashed and burned! I'm not usually a symotom spotter so I'm so dissapointed for setting myself up for such a fall. I'm cd2 today and have just about got the PMA back on track although it is getting harder after so long.
I've taken to indulging my baking habit today and made some rose cupcakes to make me feel better!

Wow becs, that is quite a skill!

No news here on 7DPO, no change, no symptoms (unless you count being constantly hungry!), hope everybody is well, x

Does anyone know if I'm likely to have OV'd but missed the right time to test? How long does the LH surge stay to get a strong OV line? Does anyone else test more than once a day or am I being obsessive about it?!:D

A positive result doesn't last long. If you were having an assisted cycle (ie IUI) then they would recommend that you test twice a day so that you don't miss the surge by accident. Ovulation will happen 12-36 hours after you spot the surge. You are fertile from just before the surge has been spotted to a few hours after the egg has released, so bding early is better than late!

If you are finding the strips hard to read (and it can be hard to judge how dark the lines are), you can get digital ovulation tests which have a smiley face when the surge is detected. They are a lot more expensive, but cheaper than a clearblue fertility monitor.

    Thanks MadMac,
I'd love to say it was a skill but it was sooo easy! Anyway being my first attempt I thought they looked quite realistic so that cheered me up.
We also went to a lovely wedding yesterday which brought back all the happy memories from our own so think it's all helped me pick myself up this month.
How are you doing? And your dh? How far away is he?
    Thanks Emmzy,
Not sure they'd post too well especially in this heat!

emmzy - I went to see Ice Age 3 on thursday and agree, it's brilliant :D we got to see it in 3D as our cinema was doing both 2D and 3D - first time i've ever seen a 3D film :o

I am feeling positively AWFUL :(:(:( I have the most hideous cold that I am now suspecting is 'flu, as I feel so bad! I just about manage to get to the toilet and back, I have that little energy! Probably going to see a doctor later as lovely MIL has offered to drive me. I'm on MSE in bed heehee. Nothing'll keep me away! :rotfl:

    Hi Ladies,

Can I join in this discussion? A very new TTC girl, just stopped taking the pill at the end of May now on CD36 waiting for AF  (Hope I got my abbreviations right  ). Did a test and was a BFN so looks like cycle not back to usual yet aftert the pill, but then its been 10 years since I have a cycle and I do vaguely remember them being quite long. Trying not to worry ...yet.

Really not good at this patience thing! Feel like I am going mad already an this is only cycle 1.

Morning all, CD7 here and for some reason my monitor wanted me to wee on a stick this morning. I had already been though because last month it didn't ask me til CD9. Oh well, I stuck an old stick in, lets hope its alright!
Am gonna be stuck at home today because I've either got a tummy bug or triggered my IBS off over the weekend. Feeling pretty miserable and knackered! Good job I'm a week away from ov, don't think I could cope with bd right now...

    *stickybabydust*

edited to add: monitor didn't explode or do anything. Phew. It doesn't know I cheated, hurrah!
