    Morning everyone,

Can I be cheeky and hijack the thread for a mo for a touch of market research.?
I currently make nappycakes and sell a 3 tier for £35 which includes a fleece blanket, 2 muslins, appx 30 nappies, a teddy, a sleepsuit, baby massage oil (waitrose), baby bottom butter (again waitrose), a bodysuit and a bib. The toys I use retail for £9.95 but the blankets have just been basic dunelm ones for a couple of punds.
Now my question is I'm thinking about upgrading the blanket to a "swaddle designs" receiving blanket which retail at £20 and keeping the same contents but trying to sell for £40. My thiking is that buyers wills ee that the blanket is £20, toy is appx £10 plus all the other bits means if they were buying the bits themselves it would cost at least £40 but by buying from me they're getting it all done as a cake. The pc below is one I did for a friend using the new blankets, what do you all reckon, is it worth a go, would you pay the extra £5 if you were buying one of these?

I think only charging an extra £5 is really cheap Becs? Especially if the blanket is worth so much more than the previous ones? I'd expect to pay at least a 10/20% mark up for the 'cake' on top of the cost of the goods included :)

    Thanks Gymfriend,
I want to do beautiful cakes using really good "ingredients" but am also aware of the economic times so want it to be good value. Even at £40 I would still be making a profit of £13 per cake because of buying a lot of bits at cost. At the moment using the cheaper blanket I make £16. I've just been reading more about the blankets and looks like they're very popular with celebs, but I have to say when I used the one I did for friend cake it really is an absoloutely beautiful blanket. So soft but also lightweight so suitable for many uses and they have some fab funky designs too.

    New List Of Symptoms...
    1. Tiredness (though it could be cause i fell asleep at 1am, awoke at 7:30am, but i slept ok the night before and was still v. tired)
    2. Hormones. Last night OH was being annoying, he was pinning me down on the bed and teasing me (in a jokey way) when i was trying to get ready for bed. I started sobbing. Today i completly got angry with the guy on the phone, and i usually dont.
    3. Little bit of sickness. I threw up a little in my mouth (tmi?) :rotfl:
I like the sound of the nappycake! It sounds fab :)
    I'd buy it for £40!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you EA!

Thanks for the OV test pictures yesterday. Did my first OV test just now but nothing yet. I am so impatient about these things (in fact just about everything in life!) Plan to start the BDing tonight as a precautionary measure.

Hope everyones having a good weekend.

I was sick yesterday afternoon and I noticed veins on my boobs were very noticable last night. I'm also very tired.... but that might be to do with having to wake at 5.15 to wake DH up for work:rolleyes:

I've had another jewellery order so must get on with it today. I was hoping to spend the day on bejewelled (facebook):rotfl:

But they are good and cheap :)
