Thanks Guys but it wasn't anyone in particular just that whenever temping or monitors are mentioned this seems to be the assumption. I just wanted to put the other side of the story.
Bitzer Maloney, I've become a bit of a curious scientist through the tumour and TTC and I really do like to know what's going on if only to nip things in the bud so to speak.
Anyway likewise I didn't mean to offend either but just wanted to portray the less easy side of TTC.0 -
Yes I remember you mentioning college. Being a midwife would be great - good luck to you!
Hey good luck with the Midwifery thing Evansangel, it is a hard course and there are times you will wonder why on earth you thought this would be a good idea, but once you have your first delivery and every one after that it just all seems worth while.Happily engaged to my better half :kisses3:0 -
Here here becs... whatever gets you that
is OK in my book.. whether you chart or not. I was trying to be subtle in my comments about being obsessive so as not to offend but you are right, knowing everything you can can only help and shouldn't be seen as obsessive.
Personally I am thrilled when I learn something and my body actually behaves and produces some textbook-like behaviour. Once I knew to watch out for a sharp temp drop right before AF I felt really empowered because it meant I was no longer at the mercy of the witch showing up and dashing my hopes and me feeling stupid that this would be the month for me. When my temp drops so sharply I am still disappointed, but I get a little bit of time to come round to the idea before AF shows.. and for that reason alone to handle the disappointment it is worth my 'obsessing'.
I am 33 and I don't feel as though I have a load of time on my side either. I never did things by halves and yeah I probably get too caught up in 'ooh this week is the OV week!'but in this way I know there is absolutely nothing I could to improve my chances any more than I have... and for me, that's comforting. I'm doing everything I possibly can and leaving nothing to chance.
Good luck to all of the ladies, no matter how closely you monitor your body's natural signals or just play it by ear... we all want that BFP and we all deserve it. It's a pleasure to be in such company :beer:0 -
Ah Annie what a fab post! Loving all your emoticons!
Oh how I wish it were this time next week then I'd know whether I'd be celebrating or moving on to cycle 27! Perhaps it'll be cycle 36 to match my age!:rotfl:I don't feel at all hopeful this month (nothing new there!) no symptoms what so ever. AF due officially on tuesday but came 2 days early last month. Never mind will be away on holiday to take my mind off things.0 -
AF came 4 days early for me last month, never ever happened before so that was a bit scary (was anovulatory - or however you spell it - cycle). After that I started paying real close attention to the temps so's not to get caught out again.
I'm not sure about myself this month either. I got on holiday next Friday for 3 weeks (god how many pages will this thread be up to when I get back! lol).. the good part is though, if we're not successful this month (should know by Sunday I think) then OV time is smack bang in the middle of holiday for next month. Maybe the relaxing atmosphere will help out on the ttc front.
Becs are you taking your therm and all the rest with you on hols, or going to give it a rest for this month?0 -
My you have all been chatty today,
Well just popped in to say have a lovely weekend ladies and enjoy all that bd/;)
I still haven't decided what to do with this op and clomid yet, Although did phone hospital today and they say I could have a local anesthetic but it would be alot more painful, and this would not affect the clomid. I would be off my leg for 6 wks. so wouldn't really effect anything that early on if I did fall straight away. I am considering local, but my other half says im mad to even think of it with the pain I would be in, as they have to cut into the back of my knee to remove a cyst and realign my cartlidge.
I am so sideing with the local now although probally will be gritting my teeth throughout the whole procedure. The things we do hey.
well have a lovely weekend ladies and catch up with you all soon.0 -

Oh Kencokenco, what a decision to have to make! My BIL recently had knee surgery and says the recovery just dragged on and on, he is still having physio now on it! So just make your mind up on what is right for you, perhaps consider hypnotherapy to see you through the pain! Big hug, hun and enjoy the weekend too x0

Annie,
We're only away until saturday and the monitor doesn't ask you to test until about day 8 or 9 usually so won't need to test until we get back if AF arrives on tuesday. I'm keen to keep using it at the mo as ov'd later this cycle and want to keep an eye on that because it could mean prolactin levels increasing again. We'll definately be trying the smep plan again this cycle but hoping for an earlier ov this time!
KencoKenco I really can sympathis with your position, I know what it's like to take 1 step forward and 2 back! If it were me though I would do the op first and start on the clomid afterwards. If you're going to be in pain would you really feel up to bd'ing and making the most of the clomid? I know from my own situation I can only deal with one problem at a time. Only you know how you'll cope but it could only delay a couple of months and then you'd be in a much better place with a fit and healthy pain free body? I really wish you all the best with whatever you decide because you have had the journey from hell and deserve a change of luck more than anyone. When I think back to your situation just a couple of months ago it's like a different person.0 -
Hi ladies, room for a newbie? OH and I have decided to take the plunge and start TTC - came of the pill in April and already getting impatient, lol!! Loving some of the wedding dresses in the last few pages btw, stunning!0
