Wow you guys have talked loads today! Wish I could have read up today but looking at ttc thread at work was a bad idea.

Since we're sharing wedding stories (or am I behind now? lolz) we got married in Vegas and our wedding was sponsored by eBay too :) My dress came off eBay, it was this one which I bought ex sample from a bridal shop somewhere in upstate New York for about £150 incl shipping.

I tried the dress on here in bridal shops, liked it but didn't like the £900 price tag and noted down the make and model so thats how that came about. It needed a quick dry clean and it was ready to go. What was funny was that it got sent from USA to UK, then went back to USA, was worn, then got sent back to mum in Australia to clean and store for me. My dress has a bad carbon footprint :D

Everything else - the table favours, the disposable cameras, the decorations, everything came off eBay. Even my wedding ring came from a certified, ruptable business seller off eBay.

I miss not planning a big project like a wedding, but actually ttc is a bit like it too. People might think I obsess with my temperatures and everything but the truth is, I just want to be a family with my OH as fast as possible.. and a little knowledge will get me there quicker :)

What does everyone think of this idea for my wedding.

On every table i was going to put a big bowl of sweets, like childhood favourites, eg, lovehearts, param voilets, flying saucers, etc.
Each bowl would be a different sweet as to encourage people to mingle as they are collecting their sweets :)

If i put a little paper bag on each table with our wedding date and names on, i thought it could be a cheapy favour idea :D

We did something similar at our wedding, so guests had a little something to take the edge off the pre-ceremony drinks! One thing I dislike about weddings is being hungry/thirsty so we planned ours with plenty of refreshments before and after, more like a big informal party. Plus tempting sweeties encourage people to mingle! We got lots of mini-packs of sweets and savoury things and put them in a couple of huge glass bowls on the drinks table.

I'm CD5 today - anyone else? I am right that CD means the number of days since I've started my period?

Yep CD= Cycle Day and CD1 is the first *day* of your period (so if AF appears overnight or just before bed CD1 is the following day)

I don't know if it's my over sensitive side but not liking the inference that those of us that are charting or using monitors are somehow obsessive. I know from my point of view being 36 and having been trying for over 2 years with a pituitary tumour cocking up your hormones, my monitor is absoloutely invaluable to me. I've managed to pick up rises in my hormone levels before I've even had blood tests which means I can then arrange a test to check them and adjust meds accordingly. Unfortunately not everyone is young enough with a clean bill of health to be able to accept the happy go lucky approach to TTC. It certainly does not mean that we are obsessives or mean that our TTC is any less fun than anyone elses. Each to their own I say, I'm sure there are women who would obsess using these methods but it needs to be recognised that there are some of us for whom the luxury of time is not an option.

Oh wow - only a couple of posts and I've already offended. I'm really sorry. I'm actually very close to turning 30, so not that young, and I have not even started trying yet and who knows I might not even be able to have a baby? I just read about stress not helping with the baby making process and I thought if I charted this early on in the game it'd be a bit like clock watching iyswim. I'm sorry and I didn't mean to offend anyone :A

Have a dodgy hug hon :grouphug: I have been lurking and reading for a while and appreciate that your situation is different from some on here, but you're not alone from what I've read.

I don't think its obsessing to use a monitor or chart. I do both and I'm younger but I had abdominal surgery years ago and don't know what (if anything) was damaged that may hinder us ttc, so I want to keep a record so I can take it to the gp should we have difficulty. (I also am a curious scientist and so I like to know what my body's doing at all times!)
