Kmckee999 definately exempts paramedics, my cousin is one too. I think the issue is mainly consultants-I blame too many years with heads in books and not enough hands on!

Hi all, am on my iPod so excuse the bad spelling it randomly changes words lol. Am on CD8 today, I OV in roughly 10 days according to the iPod (that's how obbsessed I am I have various ttc iPod applications lol)
Me and OH have a few days off work so we just having fun going out on picnics and such. Got my tattoo re coloured yesterday as the black went patchy and it hurts :(
How is everyone enjoying the day?
Oh and who ever asked (I forgot) I had hardly any symptoms with my last bfp, only tiredness which I put down to my new jobs with 10 hour shifts :)
So good luck xxx

just popped in to say.. all those ladies who are concerned that they missed OV days because the OV sticks were light and then showed nothing at all.. you may have had the surge and missed it, either before or after you got the light results on the OPKs. Sometimes it can happen really quick that you miss it. That's why OPKs should be back up and not definate - if you definately want to know if you ov'd, make sure you temp - when you chart your temp your O date will be really obvious - its the 3 days where your tempreture rose consistently. They call it a "sustained thermal shift" - google for that and you can find out all about it.

I guess what I'm trying to say without sounding like a know-it-all is that just because you missed the OPK positive, doesn't mean you didn't OV, and it doesn't mean you're out of the running yet!

Lots of info here:

If you get the thermal shift, but no positive OPK:

Q: What if I don't detect a surge, but I have a thermal shift?
A: You probably missed your surge. Some people need to test more than once per day. If you've had a test that was half-color and then negative the next day, plus a thermal shift, in your next cycle you should consider testing twice a day (noon and 8 p.m. would be a good choice).
Another possibility is that you didn't hold your urine long enough. Several tests suggest holding urine for 4 hours before checking for LH.

Oh and P.S I rarely see the positive on my OPKs, and I test twice a day.. I often see a light positive but not a true positive IYKWIM. But I almost always (cept last month) see the thermal shift. So I'm definately ov'ing, I'm just not timing my OPK test right / holding my urine in for long enough (gotta do 4 hours) / producing enough LH to show up on the test
