MadMac I know! Her statement was closely followed by "I don't know an awful lot about it because it's not that common and I've never had a patient with it. If you want to write this down and have a look on the internet! "
You can only imagine what dinner with the in laws was like that night! I would have cancelled had DH not just walked in the door with them when I was on the phone!
Thank heavens for the internet I say, I know so much more about the condition now and know what questions to ask the consultant which is fortunate seen as a visit to him is much like extracting teeth!

Hey ladies.. Phew what a day! The weather was lovely and I've just started my new exercise regime as I'd realised I've put on 10kg since my wedding last September  So told it was me and Natalie Cassidy doing the work out (although I read she had it all sucked out and the exercise vid was a complete sham.. but hey, anything is better than sitting my fat butt on the sofa, right?)

Still in my TWW, I'm 8DPO. I am feeling rather depressed as I have no symptoms whatsoever, nothing feels different at all. I followed the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) this month and I will be surprised if it doesn't work.. but that's cos I'm the logical sort and don't understand why if you BD at the right times you still don't get up the duff :D Fate can be cruel, eh?

Anybody else on the thread been pg before and had no symptoms until after they tested? *holds out hope*

    babydust to you all!

becs - doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it? "look it up on the internet" indeed! what do you need a doctor for if you can just do that?

    Annie,

I'm 6dpo and followed the sperm meets egg plan too! Well apart from day after ov as we were too knackered by then but think chances of conception on that day are teeny! However if I don't get BFP this month then I'll be telling myself that's why! I have no symptoms either but I have read of quite a few who were convinced they weren't pg and then got a bfp. To be honest most of the research shows that majority of women don't have symptoms. If you look back over this thread there's a lot that have had symptons and not been pg! So I don't do symptom spotting (well usually anyway!) as think the only way of knowing one way or the other is a test.

Oh yeah when my GP told me the results of my first blood test she rung me at 6.30pm on a friday night as I was getting ready to go out for dinner with the in laws, and she said "your blood tests show you have a benign brain tumour" ! Nice! That was the weekend from hell.

    How awful!

When I got my diagnosis it was kind of the same thing. We were seeing a consultant and I thought it was to get my results, good or bad. He starts going on about possible treatments......I was like....so I have got cancer then? He said 'Oh I'm sorry, I thought you knew'
He was very apologetic but it was still a shock!

    Yeah me! :D

I only started feeling sick 24/7 after my first bfp. No symptoms at all until a day or 2 after the test.
With second pg I got no symptoms at all, even after the test.

I have heard a myth that the more sick you feel the healthier the pg is......pppffftt....I felt dreadfully sick 24/7 with my first but still lost it.

I do despair of the medical profession sometimes! Dh said yesterday of my consultant that he was not a people person! He just knew statistics and figures but not patients. That really was awful though Shelly, I can imagine it must have been a tremendous shock.
