No idea as I've just come off the pill
Have been on it for about 6/7 years so its all a bit scarey:rotfl:
What is your usual cycle? As if its a standered 28 day one, you should OV on day 14 i think.
I usually OV on day 18 *sigh* two weeks away
It was scary when i came off the pill, i was only on it for 2 months though lol.

Do you mean "usual cycle" as in before pill or whilst on pill??
Before the pill it used to be around 30 days, on pill the usual 28 days.BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -

Thats good then
You might find it handy to get some cheapy OV tests from ebay, the strip ones. You start using them on CD10 and it would give you a rough guess then
The BD'ing thing, i read that you do it every other day then every day around OV i think. Thats was the sperm meets egg plan.

Hi Annie,
I totally agree about Fertility friend. However I now use it in conjunction with the clear blue monitor rather than temping. When I was temping I found fertility friends was a bit haphazard with my cycle saying I'd ov'd when I really didn't think I had. I'm not actually sure whether ff was right or whether it really was my cycle screwed up. I'm getting great with it now and find it really useful.
Another thing I think is really useful is the fact you have your cycle history in different formats that are easy to view and you can print out to take to a GP etc if you want to discuss any concerns. Even now when I think I know my cycle I can go back and look at previous cycles and realise they're not as different as I had imagined they were from what is currently happening.
Ooh I will have to watch out for haphazard O dates. Mine to date have been all over the place, but I put that down to taking my tempreture orally.. it seemed like depending on where I put the thermometer in my mouth, I'd get a different reading. This played havoc with my charts. Once I started taking my temperature the 'other' way, everything settled down. Although the trade off is of course that waking up in the morning with something pointy going in your nether regions is not the best
I'd considered taking the data to my GP if and when the time came, but I was worried that she'd think I was a tad unhinged.. I mean, how many people go to this much trouble when ttc'ing? (makes it all the more bittersweet when they get pregnant anyway...)
On top of all that, I am a total POAS addict and go through OPK's like nobodies business (not very MSE I know). Last month I started taking B6 because I'd read it helps regulate cycles and I ended up o'ing a week earlier than normal - totally missed BD time. So from then on, OPKs all the way. Sometimes a little bit of knowledge is dangerous0 -
Just to add to the FF stuff, I also (yes, also! I said I was obsessive...) use My Monthly Cycles as their 'free' version allowed me to set up automatic email alerts - so it now emails me to say when OV is due and so on. You can set up have much notice you want to be given by email and what you want to be notified about, but it helps me to remember where I am CD wise!
FF is prettier to look at on screen though, IMHO.
Automatic email alerts appeal to my control freak AND my geeky sides... win win :rotfl:0 -
becs,
there's no doubt you've had a harder time than most.. have a dodgy hug :grouphug: cos we are all crossing our fingers for you
we followed the SMEP this month and again last month (I don't think I o'd last month, so no idea if it works).. its absolutely exhausting for sure. I jumped on OH every night/second night and nearly ran out of steam before the big O day, so watch out for that
I'm in 2ww now (4DPO) so I am crossing my fingers it worked because it was such a hard slog getting through it. Having said that, I think the SMEP is the only way to guarantee you'll hit at least one (and probably more) of those golden times for BD'ing.
Good luck mate.. I'm sending good vibes your way!0 -
