  • Hi there everyone, well still no af and still no sign it is coming! A quick question TMI alert. I have been experiencing a very thick white creamy discharge all day. Now I know that this can sometimes mean you are pg and i have never had this before when due af. Just to clear up in my mind has anyone else ever had this when af due as I am trying not to get too carried away and don't want to be upset when she does eventually show up.

Have not done a test yet but worried if I do it will be bfn anyway and therefore a waste of a test. Symptoms today are extreme tiredness, feeling a bit sick and a bit of indigestion, the discharge and I am starving.

Hope you are all ok xxx

  • Well guys I couldn't wait any longer so I did a test and it was a BFN. So now I am really confused. I totally don't feel like AF is coming so do you think the hcg levels aren't high enough yet,and i did do the test this afternoon I should have done it this morning really. What does everyone else think? I am never late so this is even more confusing. I suppose it is just a waiting game now for either af to show or do another test in a few days time.

Sticky baby dust to everyone xx

Evening all OH is working late tonight and has an early start in the morn. I'm gutted as i was hoping to bd tonight as i'm on cd12.
Tigerlilly - fingers crossed hun. I know they say you should do the test fisrt thing but it doesnt really make too much difference. Remember you can somtimes have a negative negative but never a negative postive. If that makes sense.

  • Hi Nickynoo thanks Hun. That's what I was thinking. Maybe it is just not picking up yet, or maybe I'm just not pg. Who knows, this is going to be a long weekend lol xxxx

  • Oh well on to cycle 3 we go then Reverie. (PS really glad I'm not the only one who's done that!!:o ) Jennynoo as well, hopefully we will be joining vicstar next month.

Tigerlilley I have my fingers crossed so tightly for you still. No AF is the best sign of pregnancy as HPT's can be wrong. Did you use a 10miu test or a 25miu one? Keep us posted! I had lots of cm when first pregnant with my DD & thought this is weird as I usually have none just before AF, so it could be a good sign. Apparently your hcg doubles every 48 hours, I think, so in another couple of days it would be much more likely to show up. Personally, I would be doing another one in the morning though - as I wouldn't be able to wait that long  FMU could make a difference if you had drunk a lot before doing your test.

Just slightly off topic but I bought a Mooncup today, as they are £22:eek: I've kept telling myself I can't justify it but realised today that it would pay for itself after a few AF's as tampax are so expensive! Originally I had thought that I would get pregnant really quickly & then it would sit unused for 9 months but seeing as we are on cycle 3 now go figure  Maybe it will help our ttc - like booking an expensive holiday for 9 months time :rotfl: good old Murphy. However, has anyone got one of these things    It's huuuuge! I think it even made my OH feel nervous ;).

Well my clearblue monitor has me well and truly confused! I'm on cycle 3 with it now. First 2 cycles ahd to do 20 tests, this cycle has only asked for 10 fair enough I thought that's even better because it's halving the cost of using it! (Not optimistic for not needing the remaining 10 next month!)
Anyway it went straight from low on day 17 to peak on 18 (which is also good as don't normally ov until day 20 and was day 22 last cycle), however yesterday it didn't ask me to test and just automatically gave me a peak reading, then this morning it's given me a high reading again without a test! Has anyone else got highs after a peak?

Hello all...I've just started reading this thread because my husband and I have finally decided to bite the bullet and start trying for a baby. I'm not like most of you on here because I wasn't very keen on having a baby but my husband really wants to be a dad and I've come round to seeing it his way.

We haven't started trying yet. I've told him we will start on our 3rd wedding anniversary on 2nd March. I know it very well may not happen immediately but I function better if things are planned and having a baby in January 2010 is the plan. :)

Now before we begin I need some advice from you wonderful ladies out there:

    1) Could some kind person please tell me what all the acronyms you use mean? My head started whirling with CM, AF, BD, EWCM etc etc. just a few posts in!
    2) I'm 29 (30 in April) and quite overweight (5'7", 85kg) - I've been trying to lose weight but haven't been doing very well (though I've stopped gaining weight which can't be bad). Is it unsafe for me to get pregnant at my current weight?
    3) I have severe lower back pain during my period; so much that I can't go to work even with heavy duty painkillers. I've had a scan and they couldn't find anything except a small cyst. I've been told to go back in for another scan just in case but they didn't seem too concerned. Should I talk to my GP before we start trying?
    4) I know this thread must have this advice somewhere but I'd just like some basic guidance on what to do now. Should I be eating something special or taking vitamins or something? I'd really really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction (and deciphering the code!)

    Thank you so much.

Hi Mouche, welcome to the thread. List of abbreviations here: https://www.tryingtoconceive.com/abbrevs.htm

Sorry I can't help with numbers 2 and 3 as for point 4 you should start taking folic acid supplements, you should have 400 micrograms daily but don't take any vitamin A. I take Pregnacare which you can take when TTC and during pregnancy. Best to start the folic acid three months before TTC but if you don't have that much time just start asap.

    Hi Mouche,

I'm also very overweight. I'm 110kg and 5'7" and am trying to lose weight. My weight has been due to a pituitary tumour which I am now on meds for and so have finally started to reap some rewards for my efforts! It is so frustrating to watch others eat absoloute rubbish and be skinny ( I have a friend who only eats chips, chocolate and kfc popcorn chicken, absoloutely nothing else as she is food phobic and she is a size 8!). I'm very careful about what I eat and eat very healthily. We don't have processed food, we cook everything ourselves including bread so we know exactly what we eat. We have normal size portions so I know how you feel. My doctor has said to me it would be better for me to lose a considerable amount of weight if possible but the main thing is to be healthy and I am, cholesterol normal, blood pressure normal, reasonably fit and a good diet. There are women heavier than us who have healthy pregnancies and whilst it is far from ideal sometimes there is no choice. On the positive side I have just started trying a new diet "eat right for your type" which works on the principal that certain blood groups process foods differently. I have been doing it for 3 weeks now and have lost 13lbs.
    Good luck.
