3.5hours to go - just need to make sure I drink enough so I need to pee when I get in!

Don't know if I am too late but don't drink too much because you can actually water your urine down so it won't show up.
That's why they say to use first pee of the day because you haven't been drinking during the night.

Talking of weddings, my sister is getting married in Spain over the summer - mum was talking about it yesterday and telling me I must book my flights all I could think about was whether I could fly if I'm 7 months pregnant!!!

I'm the same and I'm not even on the two week wait! It's my 30th in Sept and we are planning a holiday but if I get pregnant this month we might not be able to go :o. Still would rather get pregnant and miss the holiday than not get pregnant. I found out from my sister that you usually can't fly between 32 and 40 weeks but it depends on the airline. Also babies fly free :)

My Mum's getting married in June and keeps wanting to go outfit shopping but I keep making excuses and thinking 'I could have a hige bump by then!'. Also hopefully won't be drinking, obviously, and my Mum and her OH are wine buffs and keep talking about what wine they'll be having (they organised the wine for our wedding and it was gorgeous).

Feeling much more chirpy about it all today- still don't know any more either way, but que sera, sera. Lots to be thankful for already (although a BFP this month would be lovely too;) ).

  • Hi ladies,

I've been a lurker for a while now on this board but thought I'd post for the first time.

Hubby and I started BDing straight after Christmas as I came off the pill. I read somewhere that you should try every 2-3 days from day 9-18 for the best chance, which we did.

Now, this is where it gets complicated. According to my 28 day cycle while I was taking the pill I should have come on Sunday eve.I still haven't.

As this is the first month off the pill I don't actually now how regular my cycle is or if I'm even ovulating yet. I've bought some tests and thought I'd do one on wed/thurs if AF hadn't arrived. Does this sound about right or should I give it longer?

    Bit confused.

    Thanks for reading,

    BFx

PS does anyone know any good websites about conceiving/ pregnancy etc. please, as there seems to be a lot of conflicting advice around
  • Hi Bear, welcome to the thread. When you come off the pill your periods may go haywire for a while and it can be hard to pinpoint when you ovulate however it is possible to fall pregnant the first month. I would get a test and do it on Thursday and then leave it 5-7 days to test again. Have a look on ebay for the cheap tests which are around about £4 for 20. You can also get ovulation prediction tests for around the same price which will let you know when you ovulate for next month (hopefully you won't need them though). Another website that I use is http://www.babyandbump.com/trying-to-conceive/ It's a forum like this one but is totally dedicated to conceiving and pregnancy. HTH

No sign of AF for me yet so fingers crossed I get my BFP soon. It's DD's 7th birthday on Friday and OH is offshore till then so it'd be great if I had some good news by then.

    Hey everyone,

I am trying to catch up as it's been so hectic in our household for the past couple of weeks I've barely had chance to read let alone post! DD's 2nd birthday was last weekend & then this weekend we went to London for 3 days to see the show Wicked which was amazing - highly recommended though £150 for 2 tickets isnt very MSE! - & we got 2 nights in the Hilton for half price - (thanks Martin!) & First Class train tickets for half price thanks to an offer in the newspaper! DD stayed with her grandparents & though she stays there every couple of weeks we've never gone away any where so it was a weird experience being that far from her!

Anyway, I'm on CD13 today & we have been BDing every other day since CD8 as my friend who went through IVF was advised that the best way to get pregnant is every 2 days rather than every day. So we are religiously going to stick to this until at least CD21 as I have a 31 day cycle, OH is rather annoyed that we can't BD at least every day & I think he was even hoping for more than once a day :rotfl:

Bear family - Personally I would hold out as long as possible before testing as you've only just come off of the pill. The doctors go on about waiting 3 months for the pill to get out of your system but this is rubbish as the pill is basically immediately reversible, people regularly get pregnant by missing 1 pill!

There's as good a chance as any that you could be pregnant, especially as you've been BDing regularly, however, your cycle may have been 28 days on the pill but that doesn't mean that's what it will be now you are off of it. Lots of women have longer cycles than this & your cycle can change with age etc. When I came off of the pill this time my cycle had changed to 31 days, it's spot on to the day every month but it was shorter than this before I had my DD/went on the pill. With you just having come off the pill you may have ov'd later & as such your cycle would be longer this month.

How about ordering some cheap tests off ebay, you will have to wait for them to arrive but at least it will help you to hold off testing for a little longer lol - I know how difficult it is! Good luck & et us know how it goes.

    Baby dust to everyone.

  • Hi,

I thought last night AF was here and a bit of SPing but then nothing this morning. Have to keep a check on it throughout the day!

OMG, holy cow, can't believe it even though I knew deep down.

    BFP :j :j :j :j :j

The two pink lines appeared after about 30 secs which according to the leaflet means there is a high concentration of HCG.

Am sooooooooooooooo pleased - OH was speechless. :rotfl:

Thank you to everyone for your help and advice and hope to see some more BFP's in this new year.

Here's to a September baby and the next 2 months of trying to keep my mouth shut about it!

Sticky baby dust to everyone :)
