Good luck. Been trying to switch ISP to O2 Broadband for nearly 5 months. These are the attempts.
1. Tried to switch online. System did not recognise my bank.
2. E-mailed. Told to call Sales. Got a grumpy Scottish call centre worker who said my home phone number of several years did not exist. No attempt to resolve the matter.
3. E-mailed again. Told to visit an O2 store. Finally my order was accepted. Received a letter saying the switch was imminent. Nothing ever happened.
4. Called customer services. Did not know what the problem was. Someone would call back. No one ever called.
5. Called customer services another 2 times. Told switch would be soon. Nothing.
6. Sent letter to O2 complaints dept. Again no response.
I am probably lucky that I never switched to O2 if this is the kind of service it provides. Just how difficult is it for them to communicate. As a O2 customer with 2 mobile accounts that I am about to cancel it does make me wonder whether they want peoples business or not. The reviews do look good if they are genuine but the customer service is shocking!

Thanks very much for that info moonrakerz, I should have asked about o2's pings too as I'm a gamer and I've just read somewhere that another gamer isn't very happy as his pings are around the 80 mark, I get around 40 on UK servers, any other gamers on o2, how do you find them ?
Just tried a couple of speedtests. Nearest server is Maidenhead, that gave me 22 & 27ms. London gave 52. Limerick 55 and Lisbon 59.
Speeds were all around 11mbs down and 1mbs up.0 -

I think the reviews are genuine OK, I can promise you mine certainly is, I suppose with all the customers they are signing up there will unfortunately be one or two along the way that has a problem, however I do believe that O2 are a very good company to deal with on the whole, having previously been with AOL, and before that with Pipex, I personally think O2 are number one for product & service.0 -

i was in the )2 shop the other day. The guy tried to sell me BB. It says in the small print that the £7.50 pm offer is only valid if you top-up your mobtel by a certain amount a month or something. Do they stick to this rigouroulsy?
Yes, they do and if you do not top up with £10 every three months, you will not get the discounted price of £7.50 and you will pay £12, it says so in the small print.0 -

I switched from Aol in December. £7.50 instead of nearly £25 a month. Very efficient service-delighted with it!0

If possible will some more o2 customers run a speed test using this link, I'm interested in the ping number that you get. Choose the nearest server to make it fair. http://www.speedtest.net/
Thanks very much.0
