general consensus is O2's LLU broadband is superb in every way.
Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.
  • I had BT broadband for years at several addresses as I worked for them and had it free. When I left I took up the O2 offer of 8 Meg for £7-50 and have not looked back since. I immediately achieved a 2 Mbit faster connection and very stable as well. My OH downloads big files ;) and I have never been throttled.
When I have had to contact customer service they have been superb and fixed or directed me to the answer quickly and easily. UK based obviously.
Unlike BT who have about the worst customer care I have ever encountered. The Mumbai muppets as I term them. Why BT ever went down the road of outsourcing their faults departments etc I will never know, they must lose so much custom due to those untrained wallies!
I did lose my broadband recently for about 2 day's and the O2 engineer went through the lot with me for about half an hour ping this and that, he even set up a static IP address but to no avail so he thought the only thing that could be wrong was the router so sent out an new one ............ one hour later my line went dead and after contacting several muppets in Mumbai found out their was fault at the exchange ! Good old BT not !

So yes jump to O2 Broadband you won't regret it.
  • I've just, this week, gone over to O2 after being with AOl for eight years.
I wish i'd done it sooner. I've never been so pleased with a service before.:j
They keep you updated with whats happening all the way through and were spot on with the timings etc.
The whole transfer was really smooth and has remained so.
    Can't rate them highly enough.

The only problem i'm having is transferring my old contacts list over from AOL to O2 email, but i suspect thats more of an AOL problem:rolleyes:

Go for it, i really doubt you'll regret it.
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

    Agree with all the above.

I have personally had to speak to the technical support a couple of times but that's more down to the quality of my phone line rather then there being a problem with there service.

I have found they have always answered the phone quickly and always speak polite and without sound rude they understand English and don't sound like they are reading of a script.

    Couldn't recommend them enough.

    1. The supplied modem can be used wirelessly. (It has four ethernet ports.)
    2. Reply within two hours. Switched within eight days.
    3. I am paying by direct debit.
    4. It's available on both contract and payg. PAYG customers need to top up £10 once every 3 months. Credits are not time-limited.

1, Yes I use my old one I just had to ring for my user name and password
2, 5-7 days usually with a mac code it was all very easy and I was sent txt updates to my phone.
3, Not sure on that one.
4, Yes you get the discount on pay as you go providing you top up £10 at least every 3 months.
