managed to get onto the 02 home broadband site and checked if i can receive the service and it said i was outside of an area covered by the provider due to the line not be "unbundled" and i could only get the service which costs £17,50 which is quite steep and saying i live in a heavily populated city its very disappointing that i cannot get the reduced rates has anyone manged to get the reduced rates in 02 connected areas? looks like i will not be switching its a real shame reading all your helpful reviews i was going to make the move to them tomorrow morning.0

It's probably fairly obvious that I have, I've been with O2 since august, four days after they went live at my exchange.
As for getting O2 on LLU at your exchange, they are adding to their coverage continuously, I'm afraid you'll just have to wait, believe me it is worth waiting for0 -
We are in the process of transferring from Newnet to O2 and are due to go 'live' next Monday. Newnet have always been reliable and we have obtained speeds up to 7 meg.
The reason we are migrating is that BE, (who are owned by O2?) have now placed their equipment at our local exchange, and we should be able to obtain speeds up to either 16 or 20 meg.
We have been paying £17.95 to Newnet but their customer service is excellent. However, with O2 (providing mobile topped up by £10 every 3 months) the cost is £10.
O2 seem to receive excellent reviews and I can't wait till we're with them.0 -

1) I have a fixed line modem that i use non wireless i prefer the fixed line modems i know so old skool can i still use the modem with 02?
2) How long does the switch over take ?
3) can you pay via direct debit all i can see is payment via credit or debit card and i want to pay via DD gives me more control over the payments to 02.
4) The reduced prices for 02 customers it says on the site its contract i am pay as you go and have been with the company since the BT Celnet days do you think i will get the reduction?
1) You should be able to use any modem with o2 that accepts ethernet ports and wireless. Remember that o2 is ADSL2+ as opposed to ADSL therefore whatever router you use, you should make sure it accepts ADSL2+ so you can get maximum speeds. It does make a difference. They also give you a router that you can use. And a CD which shows you what to do so you should be fine.
2) I ordered on the 22nd Aug and had it done on the 2nd Sept.
3) Their website is misleading. They only take credit/debit card details to do a check on you. They only accept direct debit. I know because I tried to pay by credit card and it wasn't an option available.
4) Yes you will get the deduction - my friend is on o2 PnG and she got the deduction. They say you to top up £15 once every three months so providing you do that, you shouldn't have a problem.
In general I'd say o2 is awesome. I came from the dreaded Pipex who gave me 1 or 2MBPS to o2 where I noted the immeadiate download speed. I do find them slightly unstable in the sense that pages take ages to load, often it goes and connects elsewhere but I think these are teething problems I need to sort out with their customer care. I would still recommend them to anyone who is interested because the price you pay for the level of service you get is awesome (so far...).0 -
i gifted my O2 broadband to a friend so he could get it cheaper as i have a mobile contract with them. no problems at all and he says its the best broadband hes ever had. only small problem is the billing side. its in his name but my direct debit and cant be changed so only minor bug but still great service0

It's good so far, although it's banning one of my favourite boxing video torrent websites. Can anyone else access https://www.worldboxingvideoarchive.com?0
