Of course Tisme. Welcome to our thread. You have probably found the eBay board which has all sorts of questions and answers (and problems) on eBay as well as other sites.
Have you opened an account with eBay yet? If not, do this first and choose yourself a username. You'll also need to open a Paypal account to receive monies. If you are already ahead of this pop back.
There are some of us on here who are very successful because they put the work in and then there are others (cough, cough) who don't do as much as they should and therefore don't benefit as much. However we are all eBay users so will help you as much as we can!

I don't like ebay I think ebid is better. Nice interface for both buyer and seller.
But not as many customers.
This has been discussed many times on the eBay board. Do we ahve anybody using ebid on this thread? Think one person was considering it....can't remember who though.
As this challenge is to get rid of my cr*p as quickly as possible, I'm sticking with eBay until the buyers migrate elsewhere, by which time I hope I am clutter and debt free :rotfl:

I've had an ebid account for over 4 years and have listed various items in differing quantities over that period without a single sale.An item of mine that I currently sell in quantity on ebay at £6 was listed on ebid with a starting bid of £4.99 and got one single view, no bids. However in fairness I must say I don't advertise my shop on face book, internet forums and fan sites etc as ebid suggest and when I once asked on the forum why there were no buyers I was told it was my own fault because I was expecting it to be like ebay where buyers come and look, rather than on ebid where sellers have to go look for the buyers.
I am aware though that many people do have consistent sales on ebid and several Amazon book sellers list on there as well as ebay with some success so it is probably my fault I have had no sales. However with ebay doing the free insertion fees for private sellers on low start items I do wonder if this will impact on ebid over time?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks floxxxie ! i am just waiting to verify the pay pal account, says that can take upto 5 days!!
What can i be doing in the meantime? to get me ready to go! go ! go ! lol

It's probably best to start by buying a few bits and bobs first yes I know we are supposed to be money savers but that gives you an idea of how other sellers work. You can see how they communicate, how they package and how quickly you get your goods and use them as an example of what to do, or what not to do. Also having a little feedback will make you look better as a seller.
When pricing your items remember that they might go at your opening bid, so be mindful of that. Work out how much you need to make a profit, remember to factor in listing fees, final value fees and paypal fees.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, Tisme, come and find our items and buy them.
Seriously, good advice from Soolin but don't go mad on the buying side. Think there are some of us on this thread who are guilty of such things.
And not eBay related but was very excited in the early hours of this morning as I won £20 on a free scratchcard. Who needs eBaying when you can get money for free? :rotfl:

Handbag went for £8 less than I expected, but a ruck sack that I expected to get £17.50 for went for £26.00.
My old mobile broadband dongle went for £22 ( I got a free upgrade last week).
1 item didn't sell, which I have just relisted.
I'm going to list another 10 items on Tuesday (a couple of camera accessories and more tat from the garage).0 -

Amazon might be better. Think you now have to offer free postage on eBay for DVDs!Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060

Amazon might be better. Think you now have to offer free postage on eBay for DVDs!
The postage credit on Amazon is fixed, it is £1.25 for DVDs from which Amazon take VAT and commission, but it is still better than nothing. It is always worth comparing Amazonn and ebay with things like books and DVDs before optiong for one or other.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
