I err on your side Floxxie, and dont even want to start thinking about why there are buyers for old slippers!
I have found some tights and stockings to pop on ebay, but they are vintage - been in a drawer in various houses for 15 or so years (I always think that I will get desperate and will have to wear them, but have finally come round to the idea that I was a different size then!!)
Im still behind on ebay, but have been merrily writing to the tax credit bods - probably a hiding to nothing...
Amazon cds still going well. Ill look at music magpie to sell some others this weekend. Do the cds have to be utterly mark free? do they charge for cleaning?0 -
Just thought do you think its best to pay fees as you go along when listing things and people have paid up or just wait for your bill from ebay ????
I do the postage through paypal then im not using my money, got myself in a right stink last year going to the postoffice

I pay fees, as I go along, so I know exactly what I have made from the sale.
I also pay for the postage through Paypal.0 -

My scales are cheap Argos ones made by Swan. I weign my parcels before going to the post office and my scales are accurate to within 2 -3 grammes.
Just remember though if using paypal postage you can only get 1st class post. You also won't have any proof of posting in case something gets lost and you need to reclaim from the Royal mail. You will also need a PO slot thingy to check large letter/parcel differences.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It does provide a Certificate of Posting automatically.
You just take it to the Post Office and get it stamped when you hand your post in.
The dimensions are available on the Royal Mail website, where you can also pay for postage online.
When you pay through Paypal, you get the option of whether to display the postage cost (I like that), so I usually choose Paypal.
If I sell something with free delivery, I use Royal Mail online and use 2nd class.0 -
i also use paypal postage but instead of going to the post office or trying to fit odd ashapedthings in the post box i take all my parcels direct to the local sorting office that are open 7-12pm

i have pne of those slot things from work - i didn't know that you could only buy first class postage - suppose there is probably not much difference between first & second class on smaller items0 -
Hello everybody. Sorry I have been a little quiet but hope everybody is ok.
Had some previous buyers come and collect a baby item yesterday (they emailed me direct and asked if I had anything they could buy) so that's a tenner in the pot that didn't require any eBay interaction!
Have about 70 listings today but only 2 bids  Mind due I am not that surprised as they are mostly magazines and books. So have taken over the living room (again) with 50 items to put on today (once I have been out to dinner)
Feeling really cross with myself as I have been selling bits and bobs on Amazon which have helped me reach my target on my MFW challenge. However circumstances have really changed and I now have a £15k overdraft to clear by the end of the year, a mortgage to reduce and savings to rebuild.
Oh dear already have two '' in my message - not a good sign!!
credit_crunch, do you belong to any of these cashback sites that offer goods or shop and scan (for example)? I only ask as I was looking through the rewards you can get for your points and you could get kitchen scales - thought it would save the pounds. Mine I picked up pre-LBM and they cost £30 - what is that about? £30 for a pair of scales to weigh eBay packages - madness :rotfl:
Will pop back on later to see if anybody is around doing the Sunday eBay thing.
