i have 16 items in total listed. 7 finish tomorrow, i have 3 bids, and quite a few watchers, fingers cross they buy.

I am going to try the paypal labels. but i have a couple of questions

do you print it out on normal paper and just stick it with glue/sellotape to package?

Certificate of posting? i still have to queue up and get it from the post office?
    how does that work?

    Well done Lexxx,

Yes (unless you can work out sticky labels and printers) and I only used Special Delivery last time so there was a barcode which they scanned into their system. Not sure on the other postage.
Just be aware that some POs are a bit arsy about people using Paypal postage as it is a loss of revenue for them although they have to take the parcels etc.

    Yes to both questions.

The Post Office clerk has to check the weight of the item (if it's a large letter/packet) and stamp the Certificate of Posting, so you still have to queue (but you do spend less time at the counter).

Sometimes I get a receipt as well as the Certificate of Posting being stamped.

Can I just remind people of the new ebay rules taking affect on the 27th about books and DVds as it might be worth making sure any DVDs or heavy books are listed today before the changes.

From the 27th post and packing charges for books will be capped and free postage must be given on all DVds.

I'm making a real effort to get all my heavy books listed tonight and tomorrow for 10 days so I can charge the actual amount of postage rather than loading my item cost.

  • i only managed to get 10 listed yesterday - but one has a bid already so happy about that. didn't think i would get on here today - i am so glad that i did. i was frettin about a relative who is ill at the mo and being on here brought me back to reality and realised i am not the only person with issues or worries! I am trying to get into the way of thinkin that money isn't everything and i should take each day as it comes cuz life is too short to be stressin this much!

rant over.... just needed to get that down in black & white to make sure i see sense soon!!

back to ebay - good luck everyone & hope we all do well!! xx

    Thanks Soolin,

Have been doing this since the end of December - unfortunately so has everybody else so the market is flooded with DVDs. Might have to look at alternatives for those.
Going to get those heavy text books out tonight and get them ready for listing tomorrow. The postage for text books is ridiculously low - they obviously never read law where light books do not exist! :rotfl:

This is a reasonably new requirement, its part of the buyer/seller verification, if you were using an account whihc didn't have this on when they introduced it then you didn't have to add it, but do have to include it on all new accounts going forward.

Last weeks auctionsa re running at around £25 so hoping to squeeze a little bit more from them before the end of the day when they close, couple of bods on the table, but not really expecting this to sell for what I want for it.

Didn't get around to listing anything on the weekend, but will have a go tonight and tomorrow night, depends what time my accountant goes (flipping tax return)
