Thanks Floxxie for suggesting we list snowboard as collect only - didn't think of that. Can you tell I'm new to all of this?? Also - can anyone explain 'ebid' to me cos I've never heard of it!! Am I just being a bit stupid??!! Also liking your idea of Euro Disney. We've been thinking of taking the kids next Christmas as we had to cancel our holidays this year due to my dad being so poorly.
No problems. When you list on eBay you have to put Paypal as an option for paying but make a note on your listing along the lines of 'please note that if paying by Paypal then delivery must be by courier to satisfy Paypal rules. Payment on collection accepted' - with collection only items if the buyer pays by Paypal and then claims non-delivery then the buyer would win.
Hope you get to book a Eurodisney holiday in better times.

Hi - a little off the ebay topic, but if you have desirable baby / childrens items (plastic clutter / outgrown clothes), your local NCT sales are a good place to go. we can sell about 60 items at ours which happen every 3 months. spookily, I make £45 nearly every time!
im now off for that long hot bath!0 -

Well i got my first 10 done for today. Most of my books are already on amazon but some were going too cheaply, for the people who use green metropolis do people actually buy from there?

To those just starting out on Ebay: I'd recommend taking a look at Auctiva. Some love it, others hate it, but it will save you a fortune on photo fees as you don't have to pay for each one. There are also other time-saving benefits. Others love Turbo Lister, but you still have to pay for your photos with that one. If you're selling simple items it's ideal but I often add up to 20 photos to a listing so Auctiva gives quite a saving. I'm not an expert but happy to answer any questions anyone has about it - it is a little tricky to get used to.
I tried Auctiva but found it very glitchy and more hassle than it was worth, so I went back to Turbo Lister.0 -

hi dinah.....i put about 100 books on there a few months ago, i have sold 8, ok i know it aint a lot, but i just leave them on and forget about them , until i get an email saying iv sold.....plus it all depends on the book wether it sells or not....seeing as you get £3 for each book, its only worth putting the books on that you more or less know they wouldnt go for 99p on ebay.....any book of worth, its best to put on ebay, but for the run of the mill books....i use greenmotropolis as a place for just unloading now and then....horses for courses, swings and roundabouts .....if you know what i meanCorduroy pillows are making headlines! I'd like to sign up too please
I am going to aim for the full ten items a day but I might sell some of those as lots to cheat a bit! I am after decluttering as much as making money, sick of all the junk I have! However, I am due a baby any day so will try and list a lot until I go in and catch up afterwards!
Alhough, I still need to downsize my 'my little pony' collection (vintage) a bit as I really shouldn't have as many as I do LOL. Just been being lazy there too.
Just signed up to greenmetropolis, never used that site before. Looks good. So first 15 items already listed on there.
However, is the ten items ten things listed or ten things actually gone out of your house?

If you upload your photos to a free hosting site (I use photobucket.com) you can add several to your Turbo Lister listing for free. If you using scheduling (setting your listing to start at a time of your choice rather than as soon as possible after upload) you still have to pay for it on Turbo Lister, though I understand Auctiva offers free scheduling.

Thanks for adding that. Auctiva used to be awful - constantly crashing, but in the past months they seem to have improved it loads and I haven't had any significant problems. It might be worth another look. I know what you're saying about doing separate image hosting, but I just want to keep things as simple as possible and separate photo hosting is a bit more hassle - much easier just to click 'upload' and the photo goes straight into the listing. The free scheduling is another bonus that I'd forgotton about as I get it free from Ebay anyway so I'd forgotton they charge you for it! The profiles are invaluable as well if you're selling a lot of stuff.0 -

hiya
i have just started using ebid, after paying £108 a month in fees on 'the other site', ebid is an auction site, has very similar structure to 'the other site', in fact recently won an award for being the closest competitor. the best thing is you dont have to pay to list (unless you want a gallery photo which is 5p) the only thing you have to pay as a basic seller is 3% of the final value fee when it sells. its not very big at the mo but it is much much better and will soon gather a following as people learn it wont cost the earth to use it, check out the friendly forum, have a look round the site its fab...........'the other site' is just increasingly taking the p!ss i think. happy ebidding xxProud to be dealing with my debts Nerd #992 LBM 30.06.08 Debt [strike]£3292[/strike] £1646 (50% paid, all interest free) Sealed pot member #434 £65.09 & Virtual sealed pot member #001 £82.07+£33.04+£112.83=£227.94 Gave up smoking 30.01.09 DfDay 01.12.09Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful (sell it instead)
