Evening all and welcome to the newbies. I have added the names of those I found on the first page - if i have missed you off PM me (thanks spam.jam) and if I have missed off your target let me know please.

arthurdick and millyscarlet are you joining us in the challenge? If not, please hang around as your advice is great.

Somebody mentioned a snowboard - how about eBaying it as a collect only?

There are a few of us with magazines that require selling. How about doing a listing week for w/c 20th October? Of course if you don't have any then carry on as normal.

petrafyde - wow! Don't even get me started on records as OH has filled the attic with them.

Have made a decision today to book a break to Eurodisney this year. Do not have the funds for it but really need a break that will make me cry - the look on the little ones faces when they see the characters (which by the way scare me sh*tless) and the castle will be worth all the hard work that I am going to have to put in to pay for the darn thing. Last time we went was when I was expecting DS2 and we thought we wouldn't be going on hols for a long time so we booked the Disney hotel. Problem is now we are going back I can't downgrade  Anyway enough of my moanings, I'm watching Frost and then adding yet more books to Amazon.. Also going to add my target and actual to my signature (good idea PP).

By the way PP is after a hot-tub so if you have lying around in your garage let us know :rotfl:

Thanks Floxxie for suggesting we list snowboard as collect only - didn't think of that. Can you tell I'm new to all of this?? Also - can anyone explain 'ebid' to me cos I've never heard of it!! Am I just being a bit stupid??!! Also liking your idea of Euro Disney. We've been thinking of taking the kids next Christmas as we had to cancel our holidays this year due to my dad being so poorly.
Mammy to 3 gorgeous children. :)
  • Hello - can I join too, but at 5 items a day. I have listed about 10 items on Amazon (joined that today), but dont know where I should try and sell the ones that are on amazon at 1p ! each. Any ideas.

Trying (wanting) to move house, but have too much clutter to get the estate agents in! and now the inlaws are coming FOR Christmas. oops!!!

Wow, lots of challengers at it now!

I've been working hard at work tonight (on Ebay obviously, not doing proper work. They don't pay me enough to do that!), and today I think I've listed 14 items. Brings back just how much I hate Ebay! I'm considering looking into Ebid, but it's the idea of starting again, not knowing the ins & outs of it, and having 0 feedback (very important if you're selling designer stuff so people know it's not knock-offs) that's putting me off.

To those just starting out on Ebay: I'd recommend taking a look at Auctiva. Some love it, others hate it, but it will save you a fortune on photo fees as you don't have to pay for each one. There are also other time-saving benefits. Others love Turbo Lister, but you still have to pay for your photos with that one. If you're selling simple items it's ideal but I often add up to 20 photos to a listing so Auctiva gives quite a saving. I'm not an expert but happy to answer any questions anyone has about it - it is a little tricky to get used to.

I'm not going to be around this week as we're off to Kent for a 'holiday', whatever that may be. Not quite Eurodisney, but a caravan on the Isle of Sheppey. Can hardly contain my excitement. I'll reply to all your offers of the hot tub when I get back! Keep going everyone!

just a thought, if anybody is only listing books, have a look at green motropolis.....all you have to do is enter the isbn code............you could list 100 in an hr......and, no charge at all.........also, you can leave the books on there as long as you like......all books you sell, you get £3, but you have to post out of that.........its worth a look ;)

The reason why people sell at 1p is (sometimes) with the postage added on, and even with fees taken off, they make some money. Type in the details and Amazon will tell you how much you would get, take off postage and if the book is thin/light enough you make money.

Alternatively www.greenmetropolis.com - details in posting above.

Yep definitely look at https://www.auctiva.com - free account and put on lots of photos for free. Can also write up your listings and then schedule for a future date at no extra cost.

Enjoy your hols - might not be Eurodisney but it is away from everything! Trying to book online through Quidco but appears there are no flights available - don't think I could face three children on a train from Leicester to Eurodisney but that is the option we might have to take. Cost without transport £1600  (I had better complete this challenge successfully!)
