  • Hi - Im well chuffed - as I made a big dent in the payback camera fund - £55 on ebay and £5.60 on amazon this week.Just another £248 to go!!! Then the mortgage interest...

I had to wait in for my sons new bed to be delivered, and wrapped and parcelled off about 8 items, and listed another 5.
I have to find a courier to get a large, heavy parcel to Scotland now, so Im feeling a little virtuous - if hungry - the bed still hasnt come, and I have dinner to start.

Hope you are all experiencing renewed enthusiasm:j , oddly I am at the moment.
    Bye, LHB

    Hi All

I'm just waiting for a cheap listing day, have loft full of craft stuff (which i find sells any day of the week), plus loads of stuff having just had extension built and massive clearout. Have lots of china and crystal to sell too which hasn't seen the light of day in 11 years! (3 DD's don't appreciate it!!). Probably will take whole day just to photograph and list but may help fund some furniture for new rooms.

I think people still buy in Jan looking for bargain and unwanted pressies, also my kids want to spend their xmas money, burning holes in their pockets!

Hi andi, waiting for a cheap listing day is what got me in trouble - my house is too full of things waiting to be sold that just didn't make the cheap listing days so have decided to list as much as possible every week. Our last challenge was trying to list 10 items a day and I sort of managed it but wouldn't want to repeat the experience :rotfl:

LHB, am sitting here hoping your enthusiasm will rub off on me! Problem is is that I have an essay to be done for Friday and I don't undertsand it and can't seem to focus on anything else. Oh well come the weekend it will be over. Well done on the funds - you'll be hittting th target before you know it.

Karmacat, let us know how successful ebid is. Keep on putting off setting up an account because it will give me something else to do except eBay and that would defeat the object of this challenge.

Well it appears that there will be plenty of stuff on eBay from this board!

    I'll be joining you guys.

Last month (December), I started to clear some of the junk around my house via eBay, so that I could add it to the mortgage overpayments (I'm a MFW #157).

I'm already at £800 after fees and postage after last weekend.

It is really addictive and I am amazed at how much I've sold and still have to sell.

I'm taking mine out of the Paypal account when it hits £1000.

    Welcome uzubairu,

Good to see you on this board. What on earth are you selling to make that much money? Very impressive amount.

I've heard many horror stories about funds being frozen/taken by Paypal (generally on disputes or fraudulent transactions) so I personally withdraw after I reach £50 and pop it straight on the mortgage.

You are more than welcome on this thread and we would love to know how you have managed it!

    The garage is literally full.
Since moving 2.5 years ago, we brought a load of stuff from the last house and plonked it in the garage. We only had a 4 x 6 foot shed at the old house so we have just filled up the available extra space in the garage with even more stuff.

I prefer to leave the money until I know that the buyer has received the item and feedback has been left or they have contacted me to confirm receipt.

Some of what I have sold since December:-

    Handbags (several)
    Car accessories.
DVDs (loads and loads including boxsets of TV shows)
    Old mobile phones x2
    Clothes/shoes/trainers
    Michael Jackson stuff (mine)
    Star Wars stuff (OH)
    Printer
    Books
    Exercise equipment
    Computer games (PC/Xbox/Wii)

Looks like your selling similar stuff to me...except that you have actually put it on eBay!! :rotfl:Haven't got any Star Wars stuff - guess that fetched a pretty penny? Have lots of 1960s toys including Lego. Now last time that 'rubbish' made me serious money so I hope there is still a market for it....

Ok, that's motivated me. Will get a serious move on at the weekend.

Yes agree with you. I also leave the money in until I know the buyer has the item. It is an absolute nightmare trying to refund with no funds!

What is it they say 'don't bite the hand that feeds you' my only income is from Ebay, I have a Business on Ebay so that is why I spend so much time on there, plus with listing my personal items as well it's added to the time I spend and I'm not complaining about all the money rolling in, have a good few bids on things mainly my daughters' old clothing.

I never end listings on Friday, Saturday or Sunday as I never sell anything on those days, never have done. I end listings on Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs between 7.30 and 9.30 as I find that time the best, I sell childrens clothing on my Business Account as well as gym bags and lunch bags and stationery items. Even my Personal stuff sells better during the week in the evening, I put my kids to bed at 7pm and know lots of other people do and are more likely to be online from 7.30, I don't end listings during the day as most people are busy with work or shopping etc. BIN items I list at any time.

That's really interesting on the ending dates and times. Will have to experiment with altering my end days.

eBay should also be my main source of income as I no longer have a paid job and my maternity pay has finished. Will try really hard this year to get it going.

What do you do about items that don't sell tmd? Do you just relist until they do? Do you start many items at 99p?

Hands too cold to write anymore so off for cup of coffee...

I'll be doing more ebay stuff soon.

I'm helping my brother clear out his crap. We've got a deal, if I put them up he'll split the profit with me :D

Also I have a couple of items I'm going to list for me too.
