Hi all. Haven't been around for a while so just thought I'd pop in to wish you all a Merry Xmas. Things haven't been good here, and so I haven't bothered with ebay or money-saving! Haven't had time to read the thread, so I hope you're all on track to your targets and have made lots of money and now have lots of clutter free space in your homes in time for Christmas. Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2009 to you all xMammy to 3 gorgeous children.0

Hello all,
I'm being very sad as have just arrived back in the UK from Eurodisney and here I am checking MSE :rotfl:
cazzab, hope things get better for you. Not sure if you have a diary and I have missed what is going on but if not and you need support we are all here for you on DFW.
credit_crunch, I shall be joining you on a mega listing episode. With the new postage limits I am going to list books and DVDs before the end of the year (fingers crossed I find some energy). I managed to sort out the eBay room and got very down about how much stuff there is to sell still. Have even sorted out some bits to give away.
Well for those of you who are taking a break or panicking over the amount of stuff cluttering up your house...Merry Christmas.....that's if I don't manage to pop back on before then to update on mega listing challenge

ok i have decided that as of today I am going to stop buying items to sell on ebay and sell the crap that I already have lol!!!
I have decided not to set myself a specific target but will try very hard not to touch my paypal balance until say 6months time. Obviously I will use my paypal balance for ebay fees & postage but other than that it should (hopefully) remain untouched!
I think that if I try to put anythin on turbo lister as soon as I spot it, then upload items to ebay once a week or month it should all go hunky dory!!
P.S It looks & sounds so easy when it is all written down lol!!!
Hope everyone had a lovely Crimbo & new year!!!0 -
Hi all - I named this challenge on my "challenge to complete a challenge", Panda's thread, so here I am. No way I can do ten a day, which is what I originally thought. But since the New Year, I have:
- registered on ebid,
- brought my paypal account back to life (it has £2.58 in, and a few dollars, lol),
- changed the paypal email account to the same as the ebid one,
- listed 5 items,
- scanned ten more.
Now I need to fiddle about with the scans, then do the listings, and I'm up to date. Happy happy happy.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I wondered how many people would appear if I left it long enough!
Welcome back to THE most horrible, frustrating but rewarding (maybe) challenge.
I've decided to take a new approach to my debts this year and to throw a positive light on them so instead of having a debt figure to pay off, I am going to concentrate on paying off my mortgage interest because that's a debt too but it will make me feel a little more secure (it's all psychological and the other debts still exist but are on 0%).
So I think I had left it that I was going to list books, DVDs and magazines in January before the fab eBay rules on postage come in. I can't really say to list 10 a day as I have about 1000 items. I've already relisted some magazines that I had on before Xmas (ideal for those wanting to lose weight) and on Monday I shall make a start on everything else once I have worked out where it is best to list....mmm, can see lots more lists forming :rotfl:
credit_crunch and karmacat it sounds like we all just need to clear out stuff asap so I shall change the title to reflect this.
credit_crunch, think you are very brave keeping funds in Paypal. I always worry that I shall end up in a dispute with them frozen or taken by Paypal so withdraw them as soon as.
Here goes to a clear house in 2009 and plenty of pounds in the bank.
Happy New Year!

Mmm, bugg*r, can't think of an appropriate title. Any suggestions or leave as it is?

hi floxxie!
thanks for the advice on paypal - suppose I could always transfer it to a savings account everytime theres £50 or more!
Not sure about the title! I think its fine as it is unless you wana just say ebay/ebid challenge and leave out the ten a day part?
Hope your selling goes well! I only have one thing on at the mo - a king size mattress would you believe!!!
Good luck anyway!!!0 -
Thanks cc, have amended title and changed the first post.
Are you saving up for anything special or paying off debt? If the latter then I would just pay it straight off, otherwise yes a savings account would be good. I'm just going to be paying it straight off the mortgage so will post a message each time I manage it.
Catch up later.

Welcome back buddiebabe,
Your hours reduction doesn't sound good. Let's hope the eBay challenge works!
Good luck,
