    Hey

I've not posted for a while now i've been trying to keep listing stuff on ebay but am really struggling. I've got this week off on holiday from both jobs so that i can finally get my house the way i want it....

I live in a one bedroom flat and its crammed full of stuff. I've been trying like mad to clear out but everything is just far too good to get rid of so i've been putting it in boxes for ebay. Only problem is i have about 15 boxes of stuff for ebay and no where to store it so it's lying about everywhere just making the place generally untidy  its just really getting to me. I can't be bothered anymore i really just want to give up and bin the lot but know i really cant afford to... i need the money!

Oh well rant over. I'll try and list a few things tonight i've relisted a few today and would like to make a big dent in the rubbish lying about the house but need to find some motivation.

Back to sorting stuff out. Hope everyone elses sales are going well

    buddiebabe keep going,
I know its hard going, doing ebay is almost like a fulltime job.
And you have 2 jobs so it cant be easy.
You will get excited once you see the money coming in, even if its small amounts it all adds up.

just put five items up & see how you go

    buddiebabe,

That's exactly how I feel and why I started this challenge. It does seem at times that I am climbing a very high mountain but one day my house will be clear and I shall see a bit of money for all my troubles. Then I shall be able to do what I want to!

Start with one box and list everything in there. Don't try and move onto the next box until you have done it. Then move on to the next one. It breaks it down and makes it more manageable.

Hope you find the motivation soon!

  • Hi Buddiebabe, just work your way through a bit at a time, I have lots of stuff all over the place, we have a house though, I have 6 boxes of stuff here in my office, lots in our Annex at the bottom of the garden, I have stuff under our kingsize bed in plastic boxes, plastic boxes under the kids bunk beds, preferred it though when they were separate beds as then I had two beds with under storage. I have stuff in the kids wardrobe, stuff in our wardrobe, it's endless. Am having my op on Saturday so won't be able to list anything for a few weeks.

Woo! I have more bids and more watchers! I've got 4 items up, 3 are selling, one isn't :(, it hasn't even got any watchers that one!

I love the final day of ebay selling as you see the price going up!

    Me too!

And I am really pleased at the prices of some of the items - I was expecting 99p and 2 of the items are at £5 and £5.21. Can't wait for the items to go to the Post Office and clear some space and it will be great seeing the money in Paypal.

    Hey

Thanks for the words of motivation. Im just really struggling with the cold just now i've so much to do and im supposed to be on holiday getting the house cleared, cleaned and tidied but don't seem to be making any headway!

I got so fed up that yesterday i ended up going into work in my 2nd job for 5 hours just to get out the house  yeah im on holiday from both of them!!!

The other thing thats getting to me at the moment about ebay is all the money im getting from it is just disappearing out my account on bills and stuff but yet the debts going nowhere  i've relisted one magazine that didn't sell but cant face listing any more 2nite as my head is just pounding. I will aim to list 5 things 2moro.

Good luck with all your auctions and listings

  • Hello eveyone,

I am finding this hard going at the moment... 5 days ago a buyer won 2 of my magazines. I was listing the rest that day and said that as the postage was high, she may want to bid on another for the same postage. She bid and won 3 others, and now says that she wants them ALL to be posted for the original price - £4.20 instead of £ 6.28. they went for 99p each.

I know she is trying it on, and thanks to feedback changes, there isnt alot I can do. Any suggestions from more experienced ebayers?

On a brighter note - I have an NCT sale this saturday. I can label 30 items to sell - drop them off at the sale - I dont have to be there. I collect my unsold items and pay them 20% commission. No p&p, no dsr's, no feedback and no hassle.

Amazon is going ok - a steady stream of sales and trips to the p.o.

    Night night all
  • Got an email a couple of hours after the first saying the order had been cancelled and not to send! Am well naffed off!

Not listed anything else since the weekend, have 6 items finishing today on ebay (3 with bids on and a couple of watchers on 2 of the others) so hoping to increase my current balance in paypal - £71.55 :T

I am quitting the challenge, have just worked out that minus p&p and ebay and paypal fees I have actually only made just over £30 quid:eek: all that effort for so little reward:mad: I am going to sort out the rest of my [strike]tat[/strike] unwanted items and do a car boot sale instead as I usually make over a hundred quid a time when I do them, I think ebay and paypal should have a good think about their fees as they are just being greedy and putting folks off using them! Also I think that buyers are just looking to pay next to nothing these days, can't blame people for wanting a bargain but £2 for a pair of jeans I paid £45 for and are in mint condition is just taking the proverbial!! (serves me right for buying expensive stuff!!!)

Good luck to the rest of you and hope you make more than me!

Just had a complaint by email from someone i sold somethings to, saying they are damaged, the buyer was happy with items and left positive feed back, It was pretty new hardly worn, just stuck in the closet, they wore it and now its faulty, paid less than 2 quid for it. by the time postage, ebay & paypal fee were added i lost money:mad:

not really sure what to do?
