eBay/ebid 10 a day challenge - any joiners?

Quite annoyed with eBay at the moment. Listed a lot of things a few weeks ago on the free listing day and still waiting for about four people to pay, getting all of the usual excuses. Then one person gave me neutral feedback after buying a CD from me because THEY had bought the wrong cd, how is that my fault?! Grrr.
Then there is eBay and Paypal taking a small fortune from you in 'fees', it makes you wonder is it really worth it?
She says just about to rummage around the house looking for more things to list0 -
Hey
I didn't manage to get my stuff listed last night i forgot i had some friends coming over so had to spend the day moving everything into the bedroom and out of the livingroom and hall which meant we had to sleep in the livingroom last nite
I know what you are all saying about ebay and paypal fees and i grudge paying them too but i need the space in my house and the money so i just keep plodding along. I know that its sometimes only pennies that i make or i even end up losing money but i love the fact that something you have in your house that is worth nothing to you is worth £10 -£15 to someone else... its things like that, that make it worth it for me!!!
I am going to attempt to list a few more items today but its the last 2 days i have of my holiday and im determined to try and relax for a while so will see what happens
Hope everyone's feeling a bit more positive today

Hi - my tricky buyer did pay the increased postage:j but Ill still not hold my breath for the feedback score!
3 items have just ended for reasonable amounts, and 2 just about to.
Another cd sold on amazon, and about 20 items sold in the NCT sale. Ill spend today sorting out stuff for the next nct sale (another town!), and labelling it ready, packing the ebay and amazon stuff, and then out to watch fireworks at a friends if it stops raining!
I'll relist what hasnt sold with a 7 day listing starting tomorrow, and will list as much as I can while the 5p offer is still on.
I can see bits of the dining room floor at the moment. First time in a week !!
Good luck everyone. I find being on this thread the one thing that keeps me going with this....0 -
I've sold 18 items so far, for reasonable prices, so am pleased about that. Am a little concerned about a zero feedback bidder who has won 4 of my items and not paid yet though. Relisted the unsold ones at slightly lower prices. Have more ending tonight and tomorrow and any unsold I'll relist tomorrow while it's still 5p listing.
Went to the post office today to post 8 of them, and luckily I got an experienced clerk who was quite fast so I didn't hold up the queue too much. This particualar post office doesn't let through "borderline large letters" though but it's the only one open on a Saturday...
One buyer won 3 of my items then complained that the combined postage of "£5.25" for 3 items of clothing was too high. Of course, she's a moron who wasn't looking properly. She paid before I had a chance to reply, and the actual combined postage came to £3.25. I messaged her stating this, and asking whether she would still like a further discount? (being slightly sarcastic). She said "yes please". So I reinvoiced her with the actual postage cost + recorded - £2.66 (there's no way this isn't getting signed for!) just to avoid any further trouble. The cheeky little s***. Wow, 59p off.
I had wishful visions of my selotaping the clothes together and posting them with no packaging at all :rotfl:
Am wondering whether to add them to my blocked bidders list or not. There's always the chance that she might come back for more... and I'm thinking I'd rather just get rid of the stuff than be picky about who I sell to, even if they are a PITA.
Have fallen behind in the actual listing, having not listed any since Wednesday due to spending Thursday accompanying a family member to hospital and packing up parcels and yesterday evening on a night out 70 miles away...
So, instead of going to the pub tonight I'm going to catch up with my listings and packaging up the items that sold last night!0 -
too_much_debt, good luck with your op and hope you have a speedy recovery.
buddiebabe, I agree with what everyone else has said. Try and just tacke one box at a time. Maybe you could put all the boxes in one corner then cover the corner with some nice fabric or a throw or something, just so it's out of sight? This is the kind of thing that'd help me... I'd know it was there, but if I don't have to look at it all the time, it's not as bad (I'm keeping the summer clothes I have to list in the loft for now!), and items I have to list nowish behind a sofa!0 -
Just had a complaint by email from someone i sold somethings to, saying they are damaged, the buyer was happy with items and left positive feed back, It was pretty new hardly worn, just stuck in the closet, they wore it and now its faulty, paid less than 2 quid for it. by the time postage, ebay & paypal fee were added i lost money:mad:
not really sure what to do?
Lexxx,
Would post your query on the ebay board. Personally I would tell the buyer that there was no fault with the item at the time it was sold and you do not accept returns (I'm assuming that you are not a business seller). If they do go down the Paypal route as item significantly not as described, then they will have to return the item using a trackable method. You only have to refund the original cost and postage.
Alternatively you could always ignore them

Evening all,
As expected it sounds like a lot of us are hitting the rocky part of the challenge whether it is getting around to listing or dealing with the buyers. The only thing I can advise is to forget what you haven't done or what has happened and move on..I know that it is easier said than done but give it ago anyway
I've had one buyer this week who was demanding feedback on payment - have experienced this many times with newbies so a little cut and paste onto the message quoting eBay guidelines...waiting for item not received email now!
Anyway not been a good week for me with some sad news so I'm at hospital on Tuesday. Has meant that the eBay challenge is going a little slower than expected but I shall not give up (can't now I have moved things downstairs into every room).
Just going to try and prepare some listings to put on tomorrow. Have 20 items finishing tomorrow and about half have watchers of which 3 have bids so I'm hoping that some more money will be on its way. Have also managed to clear a corner and would like to see another corner by the end of next week!
Will pop in a little later and tomorrow to see how things are going.
P.S. How are the ebidders doing?

thanks for the little pep talk & advice floxxie, i am suppose to have put more stuff up
just got busy doing other stuff
Hope all goes well with hospital for you0 -
Thanks Lexxx,
Was wondering why it was so quiet on this thread and then remembered - people will be having a life on Saturday night!
Have managed to get 20 odd listings half ready - just need to add photos and postage. Have an aim to get 50 items listed tomorrow. Will see how it goes. Even if I manage this though, the living room will still not be cleared
Must keep on thinking about the money and freed up space....

I have 4 items ending tomorrow, haven't really thought about listing any more yet! I probably should, but don't know what to sell next!
I've got a formal dress I want to sell, but I have no idea what price to start it at. I don't want it to be too high, but i don't want people to pay a fiver for it! I may have to research how many people usually bid on them, then go from there.0
