Come on Guys we can do this, i've spent nearly two hours sorting out listings today, i've got 5 listed and 36 ready to upload later on (some relists). My bedroom is a tip and i've got stacks to do but am just running a little out of steam right now!

Must think of the money (and revenge)!!!

Sorry a few of you have got buyer probs it's not good for the listing morale

Completlylost get that stuff down to the post office, i always feel better when i've sent a batch of stuff on, as i know i already have the cash. Get them out of there and get on with the next batch!

Gingababe turn the light on and get snapping & listing

sleepless is on a mission to get us selling!

I've had a little laugh to myself. Took my stamps to the stamp dealer where he tried to tell me they were worth £4 and he could pay me there and then! :rotfl:Said I would put them on eBay and he then told me that nobody buys stuff on eBay. Did he think I was born yesterday?? Made a very quick exit out of the shop - I know they need to get a good deal but that is taking the mick. Will have to get my stamp pricing catalogue out and go through them. I was hoping to avoid that and make some quick cash but even I'm not that desperate!

I should have realised when there two people in front of me were told that their 1796 George III coin was worth a penny. They left very confused.

Anyway, just waiting for 5 buyers to pay and have to sort out the postage costs for another. Will list items tomorrow, ready to start again....

mrsmcr I've got a stamp guide that I purchased earlier this year so I can look at individual stamps and their prices depending whether they are mint or used. Unfortunately stamp collectors want a bit more detail as there are all sorts of variations. That was the main reason why I thought a dealer would take my stamps off me....

So I would recommend taking your colleciton to a reputable dealer and just asking if there is anything worth a few pounds in your collection etc.

Am studying and sort of watching Eurovision...which is what I am guessing the rest of you are doing!

    Hi guys,

Good News: Managed to get 58 listings up today a pretty good start, slowed down good and proper in the middle of the day but did manage a few more!

Bad news: Just had a text from the ex he is not coming back to the house tonight, why did he have to go and ruin my evening and text at all???

Off to swipe and hide a few more of his things for tomorrows listings!

I hope to have 75 listings on by this time tomorrow, fingers crossed, not as ambitious as today but he's going be around so it'll be abit of a struggle emotionally.

Just a word about valuing stamps, the Stanley Gibbons catalogues are justthat, catalogues and give a price at which SG would sell you a stamp inclusive of their finders fee. They have completely worthless stamps selling for almost a pound sometimes.

The value of stamps has completely fallen, there is no market anymore and the best place to sell large collections may be at a bricks and mortar auction house, I have seen box loads of albums go though for as little as £3-£5 an album and sellers get to pay around 25% sellers premium.

I have boxes of stamps myself in storage, including penny blacks (which are actually worth surprisingly little, certainly much less than £1) as I had been listing them on ebay when I cleared my fathers house two years ago, but people would only buy by weight, so many pence per kilo sort of thing.

AS the prices are so low it might be worht hanging on to them to see if the stamp collecting craze comes back again. When I was young everyone collected stamps, now I can't think of anyone under about the age of 60 who does, and that has killed the market.
