was needing to get the xbox game about 50 cent for a pressie so went down to local tescos extra, sel price 32.97 and on poster it has top 20 games FROM 29.97

because the poster said "Prices from 29.97" cs wouldnt offer any refund as the poster clearly stated price, am i unlucky to have a tescos thats on the ball displaying correct posters?

No, my local store had amended the poster, putting a sticker with the word "from" over the printed "under". In other stores I've seen printed posters with the "from" wording in the last 3 or 4 days too.

Well hello everyone. Been giving Mr T a bit of a chance to get their act together for a while, but have been having a whale of a time this weekend. Broke my 2006 duck, very easily I might add. Did not have any issues about managers discretion at all, one CS being a bit awkward with XBOX games poster but soon put the manager on the right track, about what his legal responsibilities were with regard to CPA, ASA. :D

    Dude.

    ASA????

    Cheers

One of my local stores has tipp-exxed over the xbox poster, replacing "under" with "from".Imo the CS desk are right as "from" can mean the price can be either way.As for being unlucky, prob another MSER had been there first.
  • all the x box posters that i have seen have been altered, never mind it's monday so should be new cd posters up today.
    Another day another R&R
    kindly sponsored by tescos.

Saw another possible TV misprice. It's another combo 14" TV/DVD, but I can't remember the brand name, something like Havari? Anyway, it had two prices, £69.94 and £69.97. Anyone tried scanning this?
Got cherries, chicken and Kingdom of heaven DVD on Friday anyway :)

edit: by the way, the Xbox360 Wired controller is now scanning correctly.

Hi !!!!!!, Totally agree with you [reply to HIGUYUK about manager discretion re Mr T's boardroom change on R&R NOV 2005]. If the signage [and if things dont add up] is still displayed and on the web re Nat policy then surely they still have to abide by it whether it sticks in their throats to do so or not.

I had a real tussle last week over some coffee in a Manchester T's. When I got home told OH [ex regional manager in retail] then looked at the SEL on our next shopping trip and in his opinion we are being OVERCHARGED at £4.43 as SEL says £4.43 and jar label then states 75p off selling price so he thinks it shoud be £3.68. Will quizz CS at my local Mr T's should be good opener for a lively debate [they have got their act right have hardly any misprices, let me use loads of coupons on the self scan and are very nice if things do go wrong] which is why I shop there.

Using initials for everything seems to be a bit of an online obsession. Nobody calls games by their real names, for example, that's too simple. It's WC3, WoW, AoE, CEW, HoMM5, Civ4, TBS, RTS, MMORPG etc

    :confused::confused::confused:ER????????? :confused::confused:

but I managed to translate the last 2 posts on the page something about go away
  • I have had a problem with the Xbox games. I won't state the store at the moment, but store refused to R&R (or even the difference) the games yesterday after agreeing that the poster (under 29.97) was misleading.

I kept products and have spoken to Cust Services today who spoke to store who are sticking to the same line as yesterday - namely that the SEL was £32.97 and that's what I was charged, regardless of the poster, which all seem to agree was misleading. Naturally, the poster has been removed. Naturally, I have a photograph of it.

I then spoke to Higher Management at Mr T who seem to fail to grasp the concept of misleading pricing information and the offence that was being committed. The chap said he'd call the store again and get back to me if there was any development.

I told him that I would be contacting Trading Standards and he said that he would make the store aware that they might be getting a visit.

I have contacted trading standards and they were most interested, particularly given that I have photographic evidence of the misleading poster. I am expecting an enforcement office to contact me within the next few days.

in my local store all the xbox games on the poster are priced at 29.97 or below on the SEL so it would seem some stores are charging the wrong price.

 I tried to get 2 X Box games today (50 Cent and James Bond) Poster said top 15 games under £29.97, was charged £32 something.

Customer Service wouldn't have any of it. I gave the games back and asked for a refund. I would have tried to argue my case, but my 7 month old baby was not in the mood to sit around waiting

I'm going to go back tonight and try again! This time I will take a photo of the poster on my phone and mention the words 'trading standards'.
