Tesco misprice policy discussion area II

ONE PROBLEM I HAVE FREQUENTLY HAD IS THAT I HAVE HAD ITEMS DOUBLE SCANNED. IF YOU ARE DOUBLE SCANNED IN ASDA YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK AND £2 GIFT CARD. IT THIS CORRECT THAT IF IT HAPPENS IN TESCO YOU GET A R&R as i have never had this in the past and i would like to know so that i can quote this next time i am double scanned.

Tesco - North Harbour, Portsmouth approx 8pm

Picked up a couple of packs of chicken fillets SEL 2.38 Pack 2.97 which were scanning at 2.97 (although the scanners were not working - they're being updated....) got it checked on a till. Went to double check the SEL to make sure I was correct and suprise surprise SEL was gone and a member of staff was doing a check through the section - finger on £/Kg on pack and cross-referencing to SEL.

Heard her say to "a suit" I've done that side and just got this half to do. Couldn't be bothered to argue at the till so put the chicken back (wouldn't pay that price for em normally) as I walked down saw the suit pick up one of the packs of chicken and go off with it......bet you within 5 mins the SEL was saying £2.97

So - if it was you who got the chicken there tonight - you beat me to it !!!!!

BTW - Why do all CDs & DVDs I scan say "Check with member of staff" ??

:j when the self scanner comes up with "please contact a member of staff" try scanning it again it sometimes brings the price up the second time :j

I had a disaster in my tesco tonight! I picked up the Sonic The Hedgehog game and the Lemon & Garlic Chicken. CS woman said she couldnt honor the chicken as they were different numbers on the barcodes even thought there were no other chickens/SEL. Then when i said ok ill just have my money back on the PS2 game she denied all knowledge of the R&R policy even though she was standing in front of the CS sign. She still said she 'wasnt aware' of the policy even though i was pointing it out and that there were no managers in store only a duty manager who stocked the shelves!:eek:

In the end i just got a refund and left with HO's no. But im kicking myself cos i should have got HER to ring HO and the could have 'made her aware' of the policy!:mad:

Sorry to rant but ive never had a R&R and i nearly had it!:rolleyes:
What will HO do if i give them a ring?

I was offered a refund and to be charged the £159.97 so I pointed out the if it doesnt add up bit on the till and she phoned a person who came down and told Customer services to give me a refund and keep the camera and photo printer.

I have been to Walkden, Horwich and Atherton where they didnt have them or had been removed

I dont know the aisle number but it was about 6 from the back of the store in the homewares department, in at the entrancewalk towards the back of the store and one of the aisle's on the left.

Even if your Tesco have amended the price - think u can still get an R&R because (at my local Tesco anyway) the stand says that u get a free pack of tapes with the camcorder and they went through the till as an additional £7 odd so the deal would still have been wrong even if the camcorder had scanned at the £199 price... Maybe read the stand properly in your local store - but it definately worked in mine - I got the camcorder + a pack of tapes refunded..

The number i used for head office was 0800505555, they were very helpfull in sorting out my refund for the jvc camcorder. I told them the problem and 20 mins later they phoned me back saying "Please return to the store sir, you are right, the store owes you a complete refund......."

Give them a ring.

Fill your boots or just take a little???

I think if you spot something you should "fill your boots" because as soon as just one item is reported they take the SEL off and so no-one else benefits from your spot (in that store)?

Thats the thing with this website.

Because its so huge as soon as its on the site people bombard it. Will be trying out the video cam this lunch time though.

My tip is to look out for the CD/DVD's, often the priced on the box arent the priced on the SEL ... picked up many a bargain and soon to be R&R this way.
