Does anyone know of any alcohol mis-prices currently available? Have a party with University house mates soon and would like to know some.
Thanks in advance to anyone that helps

Best to look just after their offers change, when occasionally they'll leave old posters etc in place. A lot of booze offers end 6/12 according to yellow labels in store. However - you may see a label which appears to be out of date but the promotion has been extended, also some stores will insist there's no overprice (although there is) as the end date is stated on the label.

Good luck with your hunt - if you find some I expect an invitation :D

Maybe there is but not as much as they nick off their cutomers everyday;)

I would like to ask though how do you know they don't accept Somerfield vouchers do you work for Tesco's?

You know i can't see anything weong with it if 1 the machine has accepted the vouchers i can't be expected to know what vouchers they take and 2 an actual member of Tesco staff took a Somerfield voucher off of me as part payment as far as i know they take them if their staff accept them:confused:

Also don't supermarkets take other supermarkets vouchers?
I have seen for instance a poster up before you enter the shop in my local saying we accept Sainsbury's and another supermarkets which i can't remember now so again as far as i'm concerned they take Somerfields aswell.

And don't rhey just claim the value of the coupon back from whoever issued it and a little extra on top aswell so it's not like they are losing money but infact gaining money otherwise they wouldn't accept vouchers in the first place. It's Somerfield's that are infact more than likely losing out here;)

I'm absolutely all in favour of using as many legit coupons as possible at Tesco and have fought long and hard in the past to do so, within their own terms (if they can decide what they are). This though, really is the reason why they will often clamp down on coupon use. Yes they may scan - but that's an IT problem...... as has been pointed out the only competitor ones accepted are £x off £X spend. These will be thrown away.

Are cameras excluded from the refund 'if you change your mind' policy? That states that goods returned in the condition sold (ie all packaging and labels intact) and with a receipt can be refunded.

in short, as far as i am aware, No.

Can anyone tell me if Tesco's policy holds good with being overcharged online? I have been overcharged by £10 on a case of wine (they didn't take the ecoupons into account)

    Thanks in advance.

Interestig time at Tesco today (see my Batman Begins DVD on t'other thread) - briefly DVD had SEL of 14.84, scanned at 14.84, but on the chart poster had 12.96.

Decided to buy 2 of these.

CS were confused between the poster, SEL and the R&R policy.

Entertainments manager comes along - conference - disappears - CS offer me £4.

Politely decline, point out R&R policy again - more waiting for the manager.

Manager returns - waffles on about R&R policy being separate from legalities of trading - essentially tried to make out that the policy was offered as and when Tesco saw fit (without actually saying this!!)

Stood my ground - told manager I'd been through this before with a poster - never had a problem etc etc.

Manager then offered me 1 DVD on R&R, but not the second - launched into further waffle that Head Office had advised that R&R did not apply to multiple purchases.......news to me!

Stood my ground and started waffling too - about the OFT etc etc - basically all the good things from this forum that I've failed to memorise.

I think manager by this point realised that I wasn't going to budge - quickly authorised refund.

Anyone heard of this multiple purchases policy before???

Did I do wrong or was I in the right with this one??

    Cheers Dudes

Of course you were right. If they're prepared to sell you more than one, and overcharge you for more than one, then they must be prepared to adhere to their policy for more than one too.

  • THe manager in my local store explained that the chart poster is not a binding price just a guide price. I called Headoffice who also said the only contract they have to stick by is the SEL>
  • Oh and can someone explain what the actual binding contract is - the sel or th eprice on the product.

If buying meat and the price higher on item than sel, we expect refund but if price lower on cd for example and the sel shows higer price- do we also expect a refund?did that make sense?

also think there is a £3.00 limit or similar on self scna checkout before operator is called
