I'd call Tesco HO if I were you and complain. Threaten Trading Standards re: removing the lower price, that's well out of order.0
-
It seems, from what you have said, that they deliberately removed a SEL knowing that you had purchased an item.
I would speak to HO and then to the store's Duty Manager. I would also ask them to review the CCTV footage to see whether a SEL was removed during the time you were in store ( exact time should be printed on receipt. )
Good luck.0 -
Hi, quick question; does anyone know if tescos R&R policy applies to their website. thankyou!0
-
I think if you're charged more on the website than you expected, it might be more difficult, as you confirm the price before your order is placed.
Also different regulation covers internet selling, Distance Selling Act I think.
Re: CCTV, you can officially request all information that a company have about you, including any CCTV footage, as part of data protection compliance. You have to pay them £10 to do so, but they have to send you all the details they're storing about you, which will include you going to the SEL initially, then subsequently, should be able to see it being removed.0 -

Not entirely true.
Not all CCTV systems have to be registered with the DPC. Only those that have the ability to 'Process' the information. This in itself is very ambiguous, but the net result is that not all CCTV systems have to comply with the DPA.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

Does anyone have an email address for Tesco customer services? It's to complain about the Knocknagoney (Belfast) store manager (Paul)'s refusal to implement the 'if things don't add up' policy as set up by his superiors at head office (d'OH!).
I've just sent a long 'email' of sorts using the web-based 'contact us' form but I'm always a bit dubious of this method so I'm getting ready to email them properly if I don't get an answer in a day or two.
As I said, I did my best to search the site and trawl through much of this long thread so please don't flame-grill me. Thanks in advance.
In case anyone's wondering, it's with regard to the 20 packs of chicken I bought tonight. The special offer SEL said £2.38 per pack and the price on the packaging was £2.97.
Obviously we know that Tesco are obliged to charge the lower price by law and that their policy means that they have further committed themselves to paying out a full refund on each item rather than on just the difference in price.
I see nothing wrong with buying a load of their chicken to test them out. I'm keeping some for myself and passing some on to friends and family so we can eat for free on Mr T! Who cares if I have to wait a while and do a bit of needling to get the refund? ;-)
I had a similar issue with another Store Manager Ian Henderson at Knocknagoney.... refused to give refund ... I wrote to Sir T Leaghy recorded delivery and never even got a acknowledgement .... cant be bothered anymore. I just shop in Sainsbury now.0 -
Well I contacted HO and the nice lady listened to my story, rang the store then rang back and told me the following:
"In the opinion of the security staff you were seen acting suspiciously and they believed that you were deliberatly trying to take advantage of the `money back` policy.
The store manager agrees and the ban stays i`m afraid."
She also said that I was seen scanning a few items and only buying one and that I had peviously had a refund on some meat 3 weeks ago.
So tread carefully chums - Tesco is watching.
So i think i`ll pass my picture of the price to Trading Standards and let them deal with it now.0 -
I'm sorry but I think you're on thin ice - you WERE intentionally after getting items for free by abusing their policy, and I'd say they have every right to stop you. Theres a million things I could say here, but they've all been said before so theres no point. Tesco is a commercial company and has every right to refuse to serve you.DONE: Great North Run 09! For information, the 3 games concerned are all on the Tesco website for £29.97
Now being fobbed off by HO claiming the poster in question bore a "Tesco.com" label and these prices were being offered on there.
Sorry, but why does that make any difference to the prices charged in the store.
If the poster is displayed in the store and the items are on sale in the store under the poster, is it not understandable to assume the price also refers to the items in store.
In any case I personally don't remember seeing any reference to Tesco.com on the poster.
Can't understand why they don't just refund my money, would be much less trouble.
I will persevere though.0 -

I agree - I was looking & thats the point of the `misprice` thread - its just that they could have avoided the `heavies` approach.
Some you win and all that - C'est la vie. Plenty more stores in the locality.
plus everytime something like this happens it makes you better prepared for the next hurdle.0
