hi there, i initally was gutted when i was turned down, (i actually have a thread soemwhere on the forum called gutted!!) AQA wrote back to with reasons why i failed, and now that im over the disappointment, im glad i didnt get in, cause i think it wud be really hard to get answers they were happy with all the time, theres actaully a post on here somewhere from someone who got the boot from AQA after a few weeks for wrong puncatation, actaully one of my fails was using a comma instead of a semi-colon!!!!

It says in the job description that I need a degree.
I don't have one so I guess I'll be giving this a miss.

dont let that put you off, if you really wanna apply go ahead, they will ask on th eapplication form "do you have a degree", but its not compulsary that you do, good luck!
  • Hi

I used to work for them part time, and I've got to say they are not great. There are different supervisors though so I may just have been unlucky but the one I got was constantly sending 'review' emails that were not that nice. Really got the feeling that they thought they were doing you a huge favour and that you had to grovel at every opportunity to keep your position.

I decided it was not worth the constant grovel needed! There is only so many times you can apologise for writing a date wrong once  . During reviews they stop you working until you speak to your supervisor (which is when you need to grovel lots) before re-activating your account.

On the positive side you can work any time and there was generally a fair amount of questions available so could be a good opportunity for someone. I just didn't like the feeling of being looked down on and made to grovel for everything.

Good luck to those who pursue it!

What's the earning potential for this?

Firstly, you don't need a degree. It helps, of course, as it demonstrates a certain level of education, but that's all. I know people with degrees that can't spell or punctuate to save their lives, and that's far more important.

They say that you can earn £7-8 per hour or more, and I guess you could if you really applied yourself. I have a full-time job already, so I only do this for fun, because I'm a bit odd. I probably earn no more than £2-3 per hour, because I only play at it, really. However, it's really handy for me to have on the back-burner, because I know if I've got an expensive month coming up I can get stuck in and earn a couple of hundred quid. If I had to do it full time, to pay the mortgage, I'd find it a real struggle. Basically, you can make of it what you want, which suits me just fine. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I was curious as to why they ask you how many hours you can work. They don't expect you to stick to that then?
