nimbo good for you helping the poor cat. Sadly there is NOTHING that surprises me about how people treat animals any more. I have been involved with cat rescue for quite a long time and at times I despair.
Now on to my "secret" and NO I CANNOT tell just yet.But..........................After I had not one but two delightful PM's this morning(thank you by the way-you have mail!) I need to say I AM NOT PREGNANT_pale_ _pale_ _pale_ _pale_ honestly. But I was really moved and touched by your kind words and comments. Thank you.

Pen-Pin!! I SO want to eat your avatar it looks delicious and has my name on it.
Am totally exhausted and fit for very little so goodness knows what I will be like on Monday. Got offered a free front row seat for Oxford on Saturday but can't make it.

sorry to hear you are feeling poorly, hope that the cake fairies drop in on you soon and show you how to make calorie free cakes (if they do pleas fell free to share their secrets....)

Well i've heard rumours that if no-one sees you eat the cake, then it has no calories! Equally, if someone else has some cake as well, then the calories are cancelled out because you've both eaten the same amount...that's all true right?!

Wow, the weather is so lovely. I adore this time of year... crisp and sunny days - it all looks so amazing out of the window.

N9eav - having read the article I cannot believe what sort of woman that mother was. She meets a guy and brings him into her home and carries on having sex with her daughter in the room? Makes my blood boil.
floss2 - I quite agree with you, all councils are so pushed for money that putting what they have into what seems like a higher yet safe return is actually being very sensible. No one could have forseen what has happened the last few days. But now we are all having to live with the consequences.
Tired mum - Oh how lovely that circle is and how very classy. I envy you - we have a dreadful 'patio' of crazy paving and I would love something like that!
mishmash - lurk all you like, but feel free to join in too, it's lovely to hear from you.
good luck Jackie0 and we will miss you.
chocolate.orange - Hope you feel better soon hon
    Happy Birthday Candygirl!:bdaycake:

Oh Heidi - how beautiful. thank you so much for sharing those pictures.
    Orkney - feel better honey

Pixie - sorry to see you go honey. Good luck with all the competitions.
Studentsaver - welcome honey! You will love it here

My Oh went to Lidls yesterday and on offer in the frozen section 1kg (approx 12 fillets) of Pollock for just £2. For anyone who hasn't tried it, it's a firm white fish a bit like cod. So it's fish pie for dinner tomorrow. A friend came round last night with a chinese meal for us all so that was great free food!!

*hugs* to all who need one and congrats to anyone who is celebrating today.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

Heidi - she's beautiful, congratulations! And welcome back, hope your shopping trip goes well x

Hi Gryfon! I don't much like preparing fish either, funny cos I'm the only veggie in the family, but the only one who knows how to gut a fish or skin a rabbit or pluck a bird! oh would never eat anything that looks recognisably like an animal, he once had a turn when I served up poussin, thought he was eating someone's pet budgie!

Nimbo- poor you, funny how we often wish we could sit and do nothing for days, but when we do we go mad!

 Well the gota fria has got to us. High winds, rain, torrential at times, thunder lightening, but still 19 degrees. Could last for 5/6 days. Affecting all the med coast and the Balearics so ((hugs)) if anyone has rellies taking hols. My next door neighbour at home (who looks after our place) she is a mini Hyacinth Bucket, and managed to get a late booking from the Thomson 5* special teletext page is in Majorca, so I hope they have an indoor pool and plenty to occupy her.

Was prepared so got 5 loads of washing done and dried yesterday. The ironing can occupy me if I get bored while it's carp.

Today I am shortening and ironing the new curtains I brought out, while DH cleaned out the spare room ready for my cousin on the 19th.

    :bdaycake: Candygirls & Mr Sunnyday

    (((hugs))) Jackie-0 be back soon.

Pen-Pin - if it is a hyst I seem to think they recommend 6 weeks, but it depends how you feel ;) , though a little creativity is needed:rolleyes: :rotfl: :rotfl:

redruby - the tablets they give you for vertigo work pretty quick according to DH. so hope Mum is feeling better soon.

pixie - the thread can be time consuming some days, and I only usually waffle, but hope you and yours go on OK.

 All newbies - Congrats Heidiboo

:grouphug: Everyone who'd like one :grouphug:

    :hello: everyone

    Take care - DG

Redruby Hope your mum is ok, or at least feeling a little better; virus sounds most unpleasant.

Indeed, ((((hugs)))) to all who are poorly, coughing and spluttering, hurting, or otherwise not happy today. There’s so many of you, I guess there’s some really horrible lurgy doing the rounds just now.
Happy Birthday Mr Sunnyday and Candygirl.:bdaycake: :bdaycake:

    Congratulations Heidiboo.

N9eav Rotten news about the court case. I’m not going to say more, or I shall get very angry. And you don’t want an angry Wolf, honest you don’t.

Hester pork – gammon – I’m afraid I wouldn’t know the difference. Hope you enjoyed it, anyway.

JackieO hospital again, eh? Best of luck, hope it goes well.

PenPin I’m pleased you have a little more energy today – don’t overdo it though, will you? (Thinks Pot – Kettle – Black:rotfl: )

Sybil well done on getting LB’s new shoes. I wish I could leave the house without Mr LW without getting major jitters.

Well, I’m joining the “Base Over Apex Club”. Went to the surgery yesterday afternoon to try again for an appointment – they still don’t have the diary made up, so no luck. There’s a small step coming out via the back door of the surgery (building work going on, so access via the normal entrance is blocked off) and I was managing on my two walking sticks as it’d be nigh-on impossible to negotiate the route with the wheelchair, and guess who went flying??  Luckily Mr LW was there to rescue me (well, ok, for me to fall against) – bruised ego, but otherwise only a slightly twisted ankle, so no real harm done.:o
Hope the other BOA Club members are doing OK.

Second half of yesterdays soya Shepherd Spy for dins tonight, so I don't have to cook today.:T

    Have a good one, everyone.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Hi to any and all other new posters!

Sybil - ok what have you done with the real Sybil? ;) Suddenly you've turned into a mad OSer with the rest of us :D Told you it wouldn't take long, now you've got your bm and sc on and your telegraph poles at the ready, all the equipment any self respecting os-er needs :rotfl: What are you planning to make with these new needles? I like knitting with big needles, gets the job done quickly! About this time last year I made my 3 girls scarves with that velvety sort of wool stuff, was only making one for dd1 originally, then the other two wanted them as well, and wanted them quickly, then their friends wanted them - knitted loads of the blooming things, and haven't picked up needles since, quite fancy making something now, saw a lovely cardi the other day that someone had made and it's been ages since I made one, so might have to have a look for some patterns and wool at the weekend.

Annie - oh you are a tease, I thought we might be hearing about a bump as well!

Studentsaver - calories don't count if they're part of a celebration! So quick, find something the celebrate!

Jayward - glad you're feeling so good today, please be careful not to overdo it.

Wolfy - ouch! Glad Mr LW was there to save you!

Well I'm going to have a looksee on Facebook and see if I can work it out without having to get ds to show me! Anyone got the linky thing to where you all are again please?

Excellent, well then if I can manage the 2min walk to the shop I guess that's this afternoon's activity sorted! I'm assuming vigorous shaking of the biscuits also burns calories?! Or at least hoovering up the resulting crumbs should...
