isnt it racist to say most of the muslim population have low morals when it comes to business dealings??? and yes I would have felt the same if he said Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jews..... like I said, i'm not a muslim, but I'm also not the type to keep quiet when a group of people are attacked unnecessarily!

No. no. no. It can't be racist because muslims are not a race.

What dazco wrote may be offensive in many ways but it isn't racist.

You can't look at someone and know they're a muslim in the way that you can look at someone and know they're caucasian or negroid.

Sorry LandyAndy but I disagree, racism isnt just about colour. Anyway, its all a bit boring now.. .I did say goodbye earlier but then got hit with a private message and ended up here again... anyway, gonna say goodbye again - this time for good !

I did not say ALL muslims would behave this way, in fact I made a point to say NOT all muslims would behave this way.

You did say you are more likely to have problems in house sales to muslims. "But the impression I got was that the percentage chance of it happening was increased with Muslims. Ok?"

And just so you know, it is not racist to make judgements based upon peoples race or religion. It would be racist to suggest these traits as being either superior or inferior to another racial group or racial groups.

Trouble is that it's a slippery slope/fine dividing line. You have actually just said that you are more likely to have problems in house sales to Moslems. That has to be a suggestion that Moslems are morally inferior in this respect, and hence by your own definition it's racist. I expect you won't agree, but you see it's a pretty fine dividing line.

What you are saying is that you've had a bad experience dealing with a Moslem, and you are warning other people of this. Effectively, you are saying that it's better to sell to a white person. It's not that far off a sign in the window saying No Pakis.

If you think that different races, religions, ethnic groups, nationalities and creeds do not have their own idiosyncrasies then you live in cloud cuckoo land and need prodding with a pointy stick.:D. To allude to these traits is not racist.

It may nevertheless be better not to allude to them, much better.

I find it abhorrent to tell someone you will buy their house for a certain amount and then try and discount it on the day of completion, you find it good business sense.

Of course I find it unacceptable, too. There was a certain irony in what I was saying that seems to have gone past you. What I meant was that the initial offer was a bit too good to be true, and you were perhaps being a little naive in the first place. Sorry to spell it out.

I have dealt with people from the sub-continent in the sale of houses and cars. I don't know if they were Muslims. They do have a different attitude to negotiation than 'we' do. I have often found them very oppresive and insistent in their negotiation technique. I have always put this down to cultural differences.

You can always say no, and, on occasions, I have.
