    Then simply do not read.

Sorry everyone, I am slightly depressed because we sold the house a couple of days after putting it on the market, will this run of bad luck never end? I feel like i have broken a thousand mirrors and kicked a black cat under a ladder.

    Woe is me.

My friend bought a house that had been on the market one day... it happens! Good luck to you Dazco.

Yes, gazundering on the day of exchange is a scummy way to behave, and I always like to tell myself that if anybody tried to do that to me I'd tell them to sod off. In practice, though, I don't know whether I'd actually be able to do that when it came to the crunch.

Totally agree there and a horrible situation to be in.

Assuming, that is, the buyers hadn't had it done to them.

In which case it's up to you, as a seller, whether to accept the new price or not.

Sorry folks, I forget this thread is here.

After much consideration I have decided to reveal that the people in question were muslims. I will run the risk of being called a racist by people who refuse to accept that different creeds have different ways of doing things.

I was told by several estate agents that this was normal procedure for a lot of them, our own estate agent warned us it would probably happen (only when things started going a little strange). I did ask if other religions routinely did this and she said no.

We were strung along and lied to for months and even their solicitor was lying to ours.

Obviously NOT all muslims will be like this, but we were warned and it did happen so please take what you want out of this.

In all it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience dealing with this particular small group of people that were without honour, integrity or shame.

I went and viewed a house where the seller was desperate to sell, put my offer in and completed within a month. As it should be.

The individuals that behave in this way clearly don't care about their reputation, so I don't see why you need to jump up and down defending them.

Fair enough, I will go back to edit it how I meant it. I meant that the people I was dealing with had no honour. Sorry for any offence caused

And by the way, I'm not muslim... I'm also not racist or prejudice and a dont label a whole group of people based on experience with a few.
