Sold my house within a week

I would be buying it as an investment and to live posh for a couple of years.
The sellers claim to have a new dwelling in the lakes, on ebay, yet will accept part exchanges on the estate agent web site.
Living posh in Blackpool(I don't think so)
Do not believe everything you are told in Blackpool. Some people will tell you anything to get what they want.
The wording on ebay sounds too good to be true, up around the hospital is very busy & it is near the park & all the cars visiting the hospital park their cars there( I know you have a driveway but it can get busy up there).
The house is nice but price & location no thanks.(a bit expensive for Blackpool)

You have no idea why I came on this website or are you claiming to be a mindreader? You actually quoted my apology for if it appeared I was gloating.
If I wanted to gloat I would have posted in the Arms, which I haven't, where people know me and not in the anonymity of a board where I am unknown.
I posted as an alternative to all the "I cannot sell my house" threads just to let desperate people know that buyers are out there.
Whether you think it will go through or not does not interest me, but you should be concerned by the size of the chip on your shoulder. What's wrong, cannot sell yours?
Statistically, a lot of people reading this thread simply won't be able to sell in the near future, so whether you have or you haven't wont prove anything to anyone I'm afraid. There's a hell of a lot of houses to choose from out there.
At the moment, I am SSTC for the fourth time this year, if that helps give perspective. I have told some people on this site, but I think I managed to do it without mentioning exact figures. You must be aware that a house sale in the half million £ region has very little relevance to the majority of sellers, but good luck to you anyway.
Since you asked, I would definitely go for a house that I could pay for outright. It is a great feeling not owing anyone anything, and one I have known for only a relatively short period of time. However, nobody would give me a mortgage nowadays, so it's not like I have a choice!0 -
LOL Dave! I have to throw my hat into the ring.....
I bought my bungalow outright, following a messy divorce, and assisted with compensation from a car accident that left me disabled (not saying that for the sympathy vote - just to explain how I came to make thesed decisions). At the time I was still earning and could have taken a mortgage, but like Dave, these days no-one in their right mind would lend to me - I am defo 'sub-prime'
But I have never regretted my decision for a nano-second. It is just amazing how little you can comfortably live on when you have no housing costs. The freedom is indescribable (sp?). Its horses for courses, I know - but a cash buyer in the current climate could almost name their price. I'd certainly ditch the mortgage if I was in OP's shoes, but that's just me (above comments are for info and not intended to be taken as advice, etc etc ..........;))I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Yes, that does put it into perspective.
At the risk of boring everyone again, may I remind sellers not to take the property off the market just because you have a sale agreed. yes, I know that buyers want you to, but there are other ways of giving them confidence. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Well it's good news to hear that someone has managed to sell inspite of the credit crunch. My sister says that the more expensive a property is, the longer it will be before its price falls. Although I don't know what she should know about it because she rents on a mobile home park in Barry!
As always - the rich get richer and the poor get poorer - and there you have it.0 -

I wouldn't proceed buying a house if it wasn't going off the market. How would you give a buyer confidence other than taking it off the market?0 -

The estate agent said that they were not really having a problem getting rid of the more expensive houses and we were lucky because the buyer fell in love with it when it was last for sale but could not afford it then.S!!!!horpe0 -
Its strange you should say that as friends of ours have sold stc their place for £475k to a cash buyer. I guess may be its because one off houses (that one is a Grade 1) are rarer than the thousands of others on sale.0

Dear me.Assuming the buyer is using a solicitor they will have no problem in recovering their deposit when the time comes. Have a look at the small print.
I was a little bored and read back on the your previous posts. I got five pages in and felt suicidal, it really is gloomy reading. You seem to specialise in kicking people when they are down so I feel quite honoured that you chose to inflict your macabre view of the world on my thread.
Interesting to note that most, if not all, your posts are simply giving bad news/advise to people buying or selling a property and your qualifications for doing so are that you RENT your home. :rotfl::T:rotfl:
Keep up the sterling work, MSE needs people like you.
You should get a job at the hospital telling people that they have cancer.S!!!!horpe0
