Icesave/Kaupthing BACS/CHAPS Transfers - anyone received them yet?

Over the past few days loads of people on the forum with savings in Kaupthing/Icesave have attempted to move their savings via BACS/CHAPS transfer but are still waiting for their money to show up in their destination account.

Has anyone out there safely received their money yet??? If so how long did it take to reach your account?

I did mine before noon on Monday 06/10 and was assured when I got finally got through to IceSave that my CHAPS transfer would be there the next day. It wasn't there on Tuesday or today. I called them again today and was informed that it would be unlikely that they would be transferred etc. Bottom line is the Receiver I suspect has 'Frozen' all movements. In fact when I looked at my Icesave account online today aprox 1pm it was back in again with no trace of a transfer having being made. I would imagine that the majority of transfers particularly BACS since Sunday at least if over a certain amount will have all been stopped.

So just await your claims form from the FSA.

I started a transfer from KE on Sunday and it's still not in my linked account but showing in KE as left the account. I am starting to get a bit concerned about it now.

if you read the ing direct link above it says you can continue to use your KE account as normal so should work still with transfers

Hi, Thanks for your reply and so glad to hear that you have received your money back safely:D . I looked through the first couple of pages of threads and unfortunately your good luck doesn't seem to be the case with the majority of savers.

I have money in KE and chose to leave it there trusting in their important announcements and reassurances on their website last night. I hope my money will eventually turn up but I have family who are absolutely worried sick as they transferred their money out of KE Sunday and still have not received anything and can't make contact to find out what's going on.

Anyone else out there received their money from these Banks and if so timescale taken please. This will hopefully provide reassurance to those who are still waiting. Thanks
  • I transferred money from my Icesave account last Saturday (4th) morning.
On Monday my Icesave account had been Debited and I was expecting the Money in my HSBC account today.

I have just logged on to Icesave and they have put the money back in the account and hence cancelled the transfer. The statement clearly shows my withdrawal on the 4th and the re-instatement today.
