Have been reading this thread with interest, I have 12k with KE in a normal account. Am I better off leaving it there until everything calms down somewhat, and then moving it back? Should have left it in the Sainsbury's e-saver it was in before methinks! Also, if ING have taken over, I know if the worst happens with them, it's Holland we need to apply to. How is the situation looking with ING?
Thanks!
A few people I know tried to transfer their cash out on Saturday and Sunday by BACS but still have not received anything in their destination accounts. Not only am I worried for myself but feel shockingly bad for recommending these banks to friends and family who now are in a right mess because of my advice. :mad:0 -
Kaup IOM agreed CHAPS transfer out by phone Tues am (£75k) but insisted that "backlog of transfers from yesterday" meant that it would not be done that day. I pointed out that CHAPS was by definition a same-day trasfer. The answer was that it could not be dealt with till 2moro (Weds) whcih I reluctanly accepted. Chased Weds and told she had personally dealt with paperwork but that Londo office acually did the business (ie it was over to them). The amount finally went off my online balance last night at c.2000 - but of course has not (and almost certainly will not) appeared in my nomnated bank.
There does seem to have been a deliberate policy of restricting/delaying the outflow of funds here - pending the wind-up. Coupled with constant attempts reassure that all is well.
Surely this cannot be legal?0 -
As far as I'm concerned, this has turned into a real merry-go-round.
I've just spoken to ING, who say I must speak to KE, but their phone is constantly engaged.
ING say they will be writing to all KE account holders in the next few weeks.
However, the BACS transfer I initiated on Sunday took every penny of my money out of the KE account, which means I'm no longer an account holder.
More than £35,000 of my money in now floating round in cyberspace, with no one accepting responsibility for it.
With me I did a bacs transfer on the 7.10 and money should be in the bank account tomorrow. However I have printed out all paperwork apertaining to this withdrawal and suggest you do the same with yours.0 -
